Has no one here paid a Dead Space game before? In both Dead Space and Dead Space 2 you can buy better weapon packs than the ones you find in-game.
I loved the Adventure Time pilot when it was making the rounds - it was brilliant, subversive adult humor masked by a shiny, kid-friendly veneer (see: Frog Fractions). I'm not crazy about the series it begat, though - the low-brow pop culture elements and constant fart jokes make it clear that it's a child-targeted…
I used to love the Adventure Time "pilot." I lauded it as genius. When the show started, the premise became slightly incestuous, they added a few too many pop culture elements (vampires, etc), and a metric ton of lame fart jokes. The pilot was subversive adult humor (see Frog Fractions), the show is sadly targeted at…
"Of course, these ballpark tests are not the be-all-and-end-all of next-gen power - let's not forget that the new consoles are dedicated games machines gifted with a host of advantages over PC hardware. Factor out the overhead of the Windows OS, introduce ever-evolving development tools written for a fixed platform,…
Just wait until the news that Black Ops II won't support DLC on Wii U, that won't help change Nintendo's image of being DLC-friendly and it'll make this dry spell even more inhospitable. Right now I'm just waiting for confirmation of that so I can sell my Wii U version and pick up a DLC-enabled one.
Although he would certainly not have +3 tiles to his mobility.
You could always do medics / doctors from shows or games or things. House, off the top of my head.
The team to reboot Metroid - to catch the essence of environmental exploration and future-fauna terrors - may be the Dead Space guys. Although think about the Day-Glo beauty and bombast of a Far Cry 3-like Metroid Prime. And though a total pipe dream, imagine how Naughty Dog's or Irrational's interpretations would…
AUSTRALIAN GAWKER EMPLOYEE WRITES SENSATIONALIZED HEADLINE WHILE FENDING OFF DINGO ATTACK WITH DIDGERIDOO.
Also, even though I didn't like Spirit Tracks very much, I loved much of its music. Probably because it reminds me of Chrono Cross's soundtrack.
Man that game had a goddamned ton of personality.
Song of Storms first come to mind, but Zelda II's town theme is awesome.
They've always had a certain allure for me, though I pissed myself as a child in Jurassic Park and had recurrent night terrors for decades thereafter, so maybe it's just me.
Also - do you think that a studio would risk "looking silly" for accurately depicting theropods (carnivorous dinosaurs) as feathered (or quilly, proto-feathered), or make them scaly to better appeal to the public imagination?
I do, and I want them feathered.
There aren't nearly enough games with dinosaurs in them, period. Turoks and Dino Crises? C'mon, developers, zombies / vampires / werewolves are fucking tired.
Miller's Crossing, In Bruges, Pulp Fiction, LA Confidential. Here's a question - what's your favorite gangster game? Mine might be Uncharted, if Nate Drake counts as a gangster. I mean, he violates international treaties, mass murders, runs with a crew of fellow plunderers - that meets the criteria, pretty much.
As a Homeland fan, I generally name my black male snipers Tom Walker and my white male snipers Nicholas Brody (properly gingered, of course). Female snipers get the Darker Than Black character name Suo Pavlichenko. If anyone has any other Sniper / Heavy / Assault / Support characters they use from popular media, I'd…
So since launch I've been playing the Wii U regularly with a Pro Controller - and despite all the negative things I'd heard about it, it's easily, easily the most comfortable controller I've ever used. The balance is absolutely perfect - it makes my PS3 controller feel cheap and flimsy and my 360 controller feel…
