I think the only two of the "hack and slash, combo" games I enjoy are God of War 2 and 3. The rest (DmC, NG) never really resonated with me.
Bought Pushmo last night - and shortly after Starship Defense. Loving them.
IGN makes me cringe. Their reviews are so uncritical and their reviewers are such doofuses. I swear, they just pay 2nd graders for their writing samples. "I LIKE UNCHARTED BECAUSE IT HAS A GUY WITH A SHIRT THAT IS NOT TUCKED IN ALL THE WAY. THIS GAME IS A TEN OUT OF TEN. MY MOM SAID I WAS A GOOD WRITER. BY DAEMON AGE…
Am I the only one who owns a 3DS and is not looking to replicate a console experience? I'll eventually pick up a Vita for that. But I understand its necessity for Monster Hunter and Metal Gear, I guess. It just looks like a plate of hot ass.
It dismays me to see all the comments about how the Vita looks as nice as the PS3. I love the Uncharted series. It's my favorite franchise of this generation. But if you think Golden Abyss is going to show Drake dangling out of a plane and grabbing a cargo parachute, I think your hopes are a little high. I think this…
The DS version is far and away the best version of this title, then the Virtual Console, SNES, and lastly the PS1 / PSN versions with built-in loadtimes. If you're paying for this game on a portable you probably already own, get it for the DS. It has all the PS1 cinemas, some extra post-game dungeons, runs at the SNES…
Finally, I can finger Hsien-Ko, Jill, and Jean Grey.
As someone who began the series with 6 (then 3) and fell in love with it with 7 (only to resent the later bastardization of the material and the obnoxious fanbase), I can say that 4 and 9, 9 specifically, are the most charming games in the series. It goes a long way to have beautiful, expressive designs and…
To give you some idea of how old the man looks, he played Michael Douglas' father... in nineteen ninety-seven!
I really hope Golden Abyss is good (the Uncharted series is so fucking brilliant I will eat my own kidneys), but from the dialogue I've heard it sounds on par with the "what if...?" co-op missions from Drake's Deception. I wish Naughty Dog had actually made it rather than simply overseen its production.
Still, the fact that we can even have this discussion means there is a market for people being lost (duped, as I agree with everything you wrote) into thinking that their iPhone can give comparable experiences to the Vita or 3DS.
Here's another question - what will Mario games become when Charles Martinet dies? He's not exactly a spring chicken.
Anecdote or antidote? #corrections
Oh man, you really need to hear the Nilsson version. Haunting. Better if you just watch The Rules of Attraction.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1, 2, & 3 HD. They'd probably have to take out the Marvel characters, but I'd consider picking 'em up. They still smell like high school.
Hell, even Ubi's own Outland was a visual marvel and a platformer priced at only $10.
You don't have to sell me on its art direction or color palate, I think they're both brilliant. But I've been conditioned by games like Limbo, Trine, and Braid to expect that from platformers that cost $15 or less. Hence my reservation about a $60 platformer. That said, I'm chomping at the bit for this title to be…
I hate to be the party pooper, but I really don't feel right spending $60 on a platformer. Especially an Ubi game, a company notorious for dropping its titles to $19.99 a month after their release.
Super Mario World 2 was one of the first announced titles of the 3D Classics branding.
