my guess would be because he didn’t want to get involved, he would have been angry giving up the supplies. So she didn’t want him to know.

yeah, but is the water safe to drink? just because i works doesn’t mean it will be clean. i’ve been through natural disasters as well and we were told NOT to drink the water because it wasn’t treated due to lack of power (loss of power after a big storm). if the city water can’t be treated, you can get very sick.

Dunno, it seems like in every disaster, people are hording the water. So lack of water isn’t really surprising. Also, the house in the country could be on a gravity pump. My grandparents have that and they don’t need electricity to have it work.

The aliens cause suns to go super nova near planets like earth, so they can collect slaves needed to do all the grunt work for them.

Another great story - would make a good TV show.

Its called suspension of disbelief... Its hard for anyone who knows how supernovae really work to buy into the story. Yes, Earth might be decimated, and many species will go extinct, but humans are smart enough to build shelters and some might survive.

With stories like this, the theme is more important than the plot. A way I would explore this story is this: how do you know the aliens didn’t cause the supernova?
