The 2006 remake is a lot of campy fun if you can forget it’s supposed to be a remake. They basically take everything that was subtle and suspenseful about the original and go completely bonkers and over-the-top with it, which is at least a choice. The 2019 remake has nothing worthwhile going on.

I’m not sure it’s a secret, but I agree. Simu Liu was blown off the screen by Awkwafina, Tony Leung, and Michelle Yeoh in that movie.

I don’t think it’s just bad luck or coincidence that Phase 4 sucked though. If anything, the pandemic shut down should have allowed them more time to craft excellent movies. I think they’re pulled in too many different directions due to the TV shows, coupled with a lack of an interesting direction for the universe.

People really overrate that bus fight. Hell, the movie Nobody has a bus fight that’s twenty times better and done with the catering budget of a Marvel movie.

Phase Four has really shown the cracks in the Marvel formula, and the endless TV shows coupled with mediocre movies has led to Marvel fatigue for a lot of people. I really enjoyed Phase 3 and thought Infinity War and Endgame were an epic conclusion, but after this phase I’m about 90% out on Marvel. I have no interest

I can’t imagine anyone is very excited for more Shuri Black Panther. There’s a reason everyone comes out of this movie talking about Namor and not the title character. They would have been better off just recasting T’Challa or doing some multiverse thing with his character.

Maybe we’d all have more sympathy if he hadn’t wished death on Keanu Reeves.

I’d say he was a very talented actor, but probably the least interesting part of Black Panther. Sometimes being the main hero is the most boring role in a film. See also: Shang-Chi this past year.

As someone who can’t stand torture porn but enjoys the Terrifier movies, I think you either haven’t watched the movies or are simply miscategorizing them.

“I don’t get the responses to this movie” says person who didn’t watch the movie.

Terrifier 2 was a vast improvement over the first film, which basically had no story or characters and was just pointless gore for 80 minutes. I appreciate the audacity of Leone swinging for the gory fences, but in part 2 he remembered that story and characters are just as important as impressive practical effects.

She’s gorgeous and very recognizable. Maybe you’re projecting as a commenter who just blends into the muck?

The same way Best Director at the Oscars doesn’t always win Best Picture. Spreading the love at an awards show is very common.

I do think it’s articles like this one that are more attached to the Taylor/Kanye feud than Taylor herself. Post-Reputation you really have to work to find any Kanye references in her lyrics, and just because she writes about karma and revenge doesn’t mean it’s about that trash bag of a man.

Aren’t we all just extremely tired of superhero fare, or is it just me? I’m exhausted y’all. It’s been so nice this year to have so many horror films topping the box office, as well as old school blockbusters like Top Gun Maverick. Can we just let this one slip away and die?

I’ve never had a single issue accessing HBO Max on any of my devices. I never know what people are talking about when they make these complaints.

Yes, I’d like to hear how “fun” Olivia Wilde has found Jezebel’s many, many articles breathlessly reporting about her movie. What a bunch of BS.

Buffy is the only sensible number one, but I’m glad to see The Vampire Diaries ranked so high as well. Julie Plec is a huge Buffy fan and you can definitely tell in some of the wild storytelling choices on TVD.

Quite wild to find Buffy whiny and insufferable when that’s basically Angel’s entire thing.

    Your misogyny is showing.
