I will say I really liked the Coca-Cola moment and what it represented. I just wasn’t a big fan of how we got there.

This is why horror is my favorite genre. A bad comedy is excruciating, a bad drama is boring, but at least a bad horror movie can still be a blast under the right circumstances.

I loved the “divisive” endings of Game of Thrones, Lost, and Battlestar Galactica, but one ending I thought really dropped the ball was Mad Men. I’m not sure who wanted to see Don Draper’s adventures in a hippie commune for the final episodes instead of watching him interact with Peggy, Sally, Betty, etc. Throw in the

This is a wildly bad take, but I guess we’re all entitled to our opinions around here.

I’m just here to say that Passion is a pretty great and delightfully loopy late-De Palma romp. It plays like the psycho-lady thrillers of the ‘90s, except elevated by De Palma’s genius and a ton of queer subtext. Sad to hear this one isn’t nearly as fun.

Another review I read said that Godzilla doesn’t show up till 45 minutes in, and even then he’s barely in the movie. Sounds a lot like the 2014 Godzilla to me.

What’s with the need to shit all over the original Backdraft? It’s hardly a classic, but it’s definitely an above average Hollywood thriller with a great cast of A-list actors. And yes, it is pretty well remembered. I’d also argue it’s one of Ron Howard’s better movies, though that’s not saying much.

This episode was fine and about on par with “Not All Men” last week. The best episodes of the season are definitely “The Wunderkind” and “Replay”, with the worst easily being that space travel mess that went on for about 14 hours.

Maybe The Narrator can explain how this predictable, overlong, extremely boring episode warrants a B+ while last week’s fantastic political allegory gets a C-? This is the first complete dud of the bunch for me, but thankfully next week’s episode looks fantastic.

While Black Panther is the obvious choice, I would have preferred a full-length article about Spiderverse or Aquaman, both of which I think are more ambitious and interesting movies. Rewatching Aquaman at home, I was once again struck by its Game of Thrones-meets-Avatar-meets-a Saturday morning kids cartoon vibe. It’s

The best thing I can say about Deadpool is that it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. I can’t stand Ryan Reynolds, middle-school dick jokes, or meta humor that has all the cleverness of Urban Legends: Final Cut, but the movie is at least watchable. It still left me with no desire to see Deadpool 2, though.

Spielberg has only gone downhill since DUEL? Lmao ok.

The real question is, why would anyone in their right mind pay attention to user reviews for movies? The tastes of the general public cannot be trusted. Hell, even the taste of AA Dowd can’t be trusted, much less Jimmy Bob the Ghostbusters stan from Kentucky.

None of these things have anything to do with the quality of the film, though. I’d much rather people debate Green Book on the merits of the actual film and not the behind-the-scenes drama.

I finally saw The Wife a couple weeks ago, and there’s no way Glenn Close should have won for that movie. Though I’m hoping it’ll inspire a great director to give her a role that’s actually worthy of her talents, and maybe then she can win her Oscar.

I really enjoyed both of them as well, though I think Mary Poppins Returns is much better than Bohemian Rhapsody overall. Is it because I’m gay and love anything with singing and dancing? Maybe!

I feel like seeing Freddie Mercury + Queen would be bucket list worthy, whereas seeing Adam Lambert + Queen would be “eh, I guess” worthy.

Finally saw Bohemian Rhapsody this week and really enjoyed it. It’s basically Musical Biopic 101, but when the music and Rami Malek are that good in it, who cares?

Such praise from AA Dowd must mean that Monos warrants at LEAST a B grade, if not a B+.
