Your first comment was referring to Deadspin’s attitude towards The Process. You can’t say ‘Haha you were wrong, they can keep talent, Trust The Process!’ when this is a case where a) the player in question, by all indications, has major injury questions limiting his future free agency options, and b) the team is no

Oh my god, did you read any of the article(s)? The whole point is that there’s a clear fear, for both parties, that he’s going to lose his career to injury and so he’s setting himself up to cash out now. If he was healthy, and the team was still actively tanking, you can bet he’d be working to get out.

And actual owners forced to take risks instead of some bullshit single entity structure.

I’d like to think there are a few guys on T&T trying to fix the match who are pissed that their night just got more difficult.

Dying at the idea of the Indiana logo being a cactus.

Great comment & username synergy here.

Also, she thought that was ‘academic’?? Dude writes some academic stuff, but that’s a highly personal memoir in the form of a letter to his son. Also comes in at under 200 pages, you can read it in an afternoon. Academic my ass.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

Absolutely agree that the athletes should be paid, and I didn’t mean for it to come off like I was doubting you when you said the bribes are illegal. I just don’t think it sounds like they should be illegal. It seems like the sort of thing that should only be a criminal issue if it involves a public official.

I did not know that! But also, that sounds really dumb. Right? Shouldn’t the station just fire the DJ if they care?

In true Oberlin fashion, he has to show off that’s he so much more forward-thinking than everyone else.

Does that not sound like a company policy violation that an employer should have to handle internally, rather than a crime? Or am I just dense?

Now I want to know which guy on the Hawks’ roster is busting out words like ‘internecine’.

I’m really hoping the Twins can catch the Yankees for the 4th spot. Not so we can have home field advantage, but so I can bitch about how ridiculous the system is if we lose the play-in game.

We’re due!

“Please don’t be a grad of my high school, please be from Edina...”

Is it that unusual for one team to have a pitcher figured out? I’m a Twins fan and recall the Blue Jays absolutely owning Johan Santana in his prime. Which was infuriating because they had Roy Halladay as well, so we lost a lot of series to some trash Toronto teams.

More like Bill No’Kneel

Seriously. I didn’t know who the guy was before I read the article, and based on the GIF I figured he was the asshole for Man City.
