I went back and read his comments. They are certainly homophobic and worth calling out but also more thoughtful than anything John Rocker ever said. Or as the Deadspin article says “Murphy seems to be more toward the “oafish but well-meaning” end of the anti-gay spectrum than the “Family Research Council” one.”
I’m not much of a baseball person and I would certainly not like him as a person but I’m willing to read three Daniel Murphy posts a day for some reason.

My question, whenever I see these, is why do college football facilities always have mannequins wearing football clothes standing around. Is there another sport that does this? I guess it would work best with football because of the coverage of the uniform but it still feels strange that mannequins are the proper…
