You need to install a 14-50 dryer plug in your garage. Depending upon how your house is wired, that could be anywhere from $300 - $1000.

On a Model 3, a 10 minute break can give you another 100 miles. Add that to your initial 310, and you are looking at over 400 miles with a 10 minute pit stop. In other words, further than you can drive in 4 hours.

I suspect they have until the end of 2020 to prove that the Model Y can generate significant volumes without further price reductions. If they do that, they get until sometime in 2021 to show accounting profitability. Cash flow positive by 2022.

With the federal tax credit, it is below $100K.

Yes, and as current Tesla owner and former Porsche owner, I say this will kill the Model S. Many people who can drop $80K plus on a car, can also drop $120K (which is what a reasonably equipped Taycan 4S will cost). And they would much rather have the Porsche because of its superior fit and finish and dealer

It’s pretty clear that this announcement was not originally planned, but a reaction to the sticker shock experienced by many potential Porsche Taycan buyers to the Turbo and Turbo S.

I agree with you on the market cap. Once they become profitable, and people realize just how little profit most automakers make, Tesla is worth around $10B.

As I said, I refuse to buy the stock. Even if they become profitable eventually, they might be worth what Ford is worth, which is about $10B.

I have owned my Tesla for just over a month. I had no intention to buy an EV until my boss let me borrow his overnight. Bought my Model 3 Performance for its blistering performance and good handlingBefore that I had a Macan S.

Huh? Who the hell waits 3 hours? On any Supercharger, you are typically charged in 40 minutes to go another 200+ miles.

I own a Tesla. I am also who professional investor who doesn’t hold the stock. Tesla is a poor business that makes a great product.

Being a purpose-built all-electric model, there’s no need to package a conventional powertrain up front, allowing for a lower nose

Your plan makes a lot of sense.

He has an article. I have a deposit contract on a Polestar 2. I also know what I paid for my Tesla Model 3 Performance (stealth version) that I bought last month. See my other post.

Take a look at Youtube videos from Bjorn Nyland, and you might change your mind about using EVs for long distances, at least for Tesla.

Not cost. Initial Polestar 2 units are going to be $63K, or at least that’s what my deposit says. Model 3 Performance is already considerably less.

Tesla is already extremely safe. As long as you are not using Smart Summon or misusing AutoPilot.

Exactly. When I placed a deposit, it said initial US pricing would be $63K, probably not including the performance upgrades.

At least initially, the US price of $63K is not remotely close. See my other (grey) post.

I have one of the very first deposits for the Polestar 2 with Performance Pack. US pricing is expected to be $63K (not clear if that includes the performance upgrades), and eligible for a $7500 credit. Estimated 0-60 is about 4.5s.
