The commenters on most of the other Gawker sites are far left, so if you are not careful you get a distorted view of reality. The people on Jalopnik have a diversity of opinions and are much more centered.
Uh, when dealers say ‘cash deal’, they really mean bring a check for the full amount. When I bought my Macan, the dealership even accepted my personal check.
The typical Jalopnik reader is more intelligent than several of the Gawker websites (won’t name them here).
The real issue is that people with your intelligence don’t tend to become automotive bloggers (with notable exceptions such as Demuro and Torch).
And the people saved by doing things quickly and “good enough” could very well be your sons and neighbors.

I can’t help but think this is a grand test to figure out just how far investors believe in the “greater fool” theory, throwing money at bad ideas in the belief that some greater fool will buy it from them.
