“That said, a cop doing a traffic stop is fairly likely to shoot you to death in the US, regardless of what you do, so I wouldn’t exactly blame them from running.”

The EVO video posted earlier says that the European version of this car is far better than the GTI.

Coming soon to a theater near you:

Doug DeMuro said that it is narrower than a Ford Focus.

“Nice frits”

Leaving aside the purpose of corporations because we will never find common ground there. But moving onto this discussion about taxes:

Thank you for providing one of the most entertaining discussions I have had on Jalopnik.

I am sorry for you. I really tried to lay it out for you. Apparently you are unable to understand that that as passive investing increases, the ability of active investors to outperform increases, not decreases.

Everything about your post is wrong, starting with where I was born, and ending with where I have been.

ETF’s killed professional investment management anyway; but you’ll figure that out in 15 years when its far too late.

There are better private sources about median income, but a decent public source is here:

Setting profit above all else also demands amoral (and often immoral) behaviour. Pollution, workers rights, national loyalty, customer well-being are all sacrificed on the altar of profit.

There is no way people are dumb enough to trust their money to you.

Happy to provide the entertainment for you and others.

You know, before you throw rocks you should first make sure that what you say is accurate.

As I have said multiple times in other responses, I believe in universal health care. And I believe that we as a society are not properly serving the bottom 20% of income recipients.

No argument with you about medical—it is a mess, and universal health care would be far better. But costs for food and housing are generally quite a bit lower in the US.

That’s brilliant sarcasm! Or are you serious?

Tax rates vary drastically according to the fraction of a company’s global operations. For example, US utility companies pay a great deal of taxes because all of their operations are in the US. Tech companies with strong overseas sales in contrast pay very little US taxes.

I agree with you that the US medical system is a mess. I am a proponent of universal health care and would gladly pay more in taxes to support it.
