America will not use nuclear weapons, but it will level NK’s capital almost immediately, and will invade and kill just about everyone else over time. And 90% of the US population will cheer the military on in doing so.

I agree with tony_flamingo that reprogramming will be very hard.

I will have to think about your last point some more.

I disagree with you on several points, so let me explain why:

Are you someone who confuses financial profitability with solving difficult problems?

Only because Musk isn’t complacent to work on just one field like Jobs was, and at this time is far more in trying to solve really hard problems.

Steve Jobs invented toys compared to what Elon creates.

What a refreshingly well-articulated post.

Chill!

We are off the original point (which I generally agree with you on), but this is where accounting gets weird. The things you mentioned generally appear on the balance sheet only if acquired, but not if they are internally developed.

While earnings potential is of course an asset, for accounting purposes it is not treated as one. A person’s net worth is analogous to a company’s balance sheet—both are financial snapshots in time.

“Can’t wait till the credit markets crash again, get bailed out again, and you still don’t understand that you’re being had”

Lighten up, Francis.

Just change it to a toll road in that case. Each in and out is $10.

“someone has to pay for it.”
That I agree with. If not just the people who use it, the next most fair thing is a flat tax. And it’s not just because Ryan is against it, although for most things that is a pretty good sign it is a good idea. Everyone should pay something for services they use, else they take it for

“But for the grace of god (or whomever) you could have been born in rural central Africa.”

I don’t live in NYC. I have to visit it often for work though. You couldn’t pay me enough to live there.

You don’t know shit about me, so stop assuming.

Damn good post! Disappointed I didn’t write it myself.

No. Rich means net worth. The doctor is close to bankrupt.
