For a refrigerator, you really shouldn't wait for it to overload and stop working before you clean the coils. It will run more efficiently and quieter with clean coils.

Or you could just get Victorinox knives which are easily good enough for 91.45% of home chefs and not have to worry about a budget as they are relatively cheap.

The window could be on the opposite side of the house as the sun and just let light in. Letting the breeze in doesn't make much sense as you would have to manually open/close the window separately from the blinds.

If a better job comes along right away, take it. Don't feel like you have to stay loyal to that company because they gave you your first (or 2nd or 3rd, etc.) job. If it comes down to it, the company will have no problem laying you off with little to no notice.
