This is random, but did anyone play Bloodborne? I feel like it’s like that. It just started as gothic and fighty, but turned into this big bizarre celestial/alien abomination, which was quite a turnoff for me, but undoubtedly how the story was written the entire time. It just took a while to be revealed.
I think Season 6 has been pretty great, actually. I agree that GRRM has piled so much crap on his basic story that he laid out in books 1-3 that I think he’s found himself in a cul-de-sac he can’t get out of. But the show, knowing the ending, has wisely decided to cut past all that garbage and stick to getting to the…
My first reaction upon reading this was that I read the books twice and I don’t remember any of this. My second reaction is that I still don’t care. And my last reaction is that even after the explanation and the details of how it fits into the larger story, I still don’t care. There’s nothing in there that I read…
Doesn’t this happen to a lot of long running series? I would say even the Dark Tower or Wheel of Time series were criticized at the end. They may not be for the same reasons but the fact they all took so long to write could contribute to it all.
The signs were always there for those who could see them. The story has dragons, for goodness sake.
And Mookie’s only 23 years old. Goddamn is he a pleasure to watch.
I’m just happy that the odds are getting better that I won’t have to go all the way to Rio to catch part of the Olympic experience.
I’ve been saying this since day one: if you’re not all in on Mookie Betts, you’re not all in on life.
“Look, our tower’s got height, okay? We’ve got the best height.”
Does it really matter? Credible or not I think it helps to publicize this sort of stuff — both to expose this ugliness and to push sites like Twitter to improve their harassment policies.
99.99 percent of the time I find Coors Light to be disgusting. But if I’m on a golf course with some friends on a hot as blazes day in August there is no better taste in the world than a so cold it has ice crystals floating in it silver bullet. Bonus points if it’s not yet 9 am.
Well, blame it on technology. Beer tastes better out of glass bottles leaving all that aluminum with nothing to do.
In my day, we’d have sent Ty Cobb out to execute a high slide with sharpened spikes.
Sorry if I have to be “that guy” but what I just watched is disgusting and never would have happened in the old days. It’s just not right and has no place in baseball.
A significant number of baseball players are cordially invited to get over it. If you groove one to a hitter and he takes it deep, that’s on you. Shut up and fuck off.
There are several stills in this that freak me out just sitting here. Red Guy behind Patrick Wilson being a prime example.
Great list, there’s a lot I haven’t seen, totally agree about It Follows being #1. That sparked days of conversation about what “It” actually was. That and Babadook did a great job with metaphorical horrors which is something horror films miss these days. I definitely want to watch The Witch, and I’m excited about The…

Not a bad effort considering he died in 1938
