Mistake Not...

I read a whole bunch of Old Nan stuff last night, and some reddit threads. I am “convinced” that was a Stark. There’s some overlap and underlap with the books, but there is a lot of evidence in favor, and that his name might be Brandon too.

I Approve.

I can’t even remember the “next week on”. I was literally stunned.

I hope it’s not the last. Him and Jaime are my favorite characters. There is a guy in my office who named his dog Ser Jorah for seven’s sake.

Damn. Good point. Maybe it’s just the “market”. If you’re a person wishing ill will, it’s cost x. If you are a nation-state wanting to off an important person, well that has it’s markups.

Great question about Jaqhen being in Westeros. I wonder...

The “Mad” King was mad b/c he could hear Bran’s whisperings?

I have to be honest. This has increased my level of respect for GRRM exponentially. He held that for 10, 15, 20 years?! I wonder how it happened. Did he know the exact circumstance that would require Wyllis to hold-the-door, or did he just think he’d eventually figure it out. Either way, simply amazing mind and

I don’t believe you. You’ve obviously been invested to make it this far. Are you really going to jump ship now that we are learning things? C’mon - I know it’s hot take Monday for everyone, but you’ll finish it, right? Right? Say you will :)

I like your thinking.

I agree that manipulation is unlikely, but it raises the question - why does the Night’s king care if Bran can see the past? Either Bran CAN affect it, or will learn something to defeat him.

I think at this time in Westerosi history, the Targs would have swelt in Valyria, not Westeros. Might be wrong, but pretty certain. They didnt travel to Westeros until the Doom of Valyria.

I wish I could have a global response ( and this is all IIRC )

It makes a helluva lot of sense to me. The Starks are related to the first men, had “magic powers” in the past, already had a family turn evil (the Rat king or something, I have to go back and look), and there is some kind of connection between Bran and the Night’s King. I am pretty happy with this theory. Glad you

Funny. Someone above wrote how blond he was :)

Not that I know of. I am going to do more research on it. It just popped into my head during the scene. However, there is clearly a connection between the Night’s King and Bran. Plus, the Starks are related to the “First Men”, and aren’t just “Andals”.

I hear you, and agree that it would be a stretch. I’m always looking for connections, and as it was happening “That is a Stark” popped into my head. There is clearly some kind of connection between the Night’s King (who we saw get “created”) and Bran though. Why is that? What could Bran do to hurt the NK? Interesting

I think so. Which helps explain their weakness to it.

The hodor tail is wagging the dog today. lol

A few things. If I were going to make a weaponized “demon ice king”, I would start with a strong, powerful human. The Starks had some “ancient” powers, iirc, Bran the Builder used magic to help build the Wall/Winterfell. Second, it would just make a lot of sense, rather than some nobody.
