@inabook: There are *multiple* studies that show how animals form bonds and connections to each other. Anyone with a beloved pet knows there is a bond. Furthermore, the fact that humans DO have "morals and ethics" should be enough to make us think of kinder ways to impose our will on "lesser" species.

@veronykah: I agree with you. No way in hell would I subject my pooch to cruelty. NO WAY.

@colormeroutine: We could also argue that animals behave strictly out of instinct, whereas we have the presence of mind to make decisions based on their potential outcomes. And for me, if a potential outcome results in the unnecessary death/torture of an animal? I won't be acting on my instinct alone.

@mbprice: I think we should also employ video games. And robots.

@Pennyfeather: Another Jane lover here. The day I tried to access their website.... and got GLAMOUR's site instead?? That day sucked. I don't care if that sounds dramatic.

Oh, wow! I totally understand some of the Old Norse!

So much antagonism towards SS. We could look at the interview and say she was "dominating" and "not giving the others a chance". But I would give more credit to the rest of the women at that table - if they wanted to say something, they could have stepped up, jumped in and said something. This isn't a scenario

@HHale: I'm losing track of everyone's sarcasm here.

@andromache: I'm sending good energy your way! No animal should suffer - good luck with your efforts!

@MilointheMeadow: Anyway, I've thought about fixing it especially since it's harder to breathe through one of my nostrils..... but then I wouldn't have a cool party trick. And a story about my childhood and negligent parents.

When I was a toddler, I was climbing up a TV, fell back on the floor with the TV smooshing my face and broke the cartilage in my nose. Besides having a cool party trick (listen to my nose click!) my nose has always slanted a little to the right. Which bothers the hell out of me though generally unnoticeable (until

Someone told me that Lego is a Danish invention. Is this another case of the Scandinavians doing something awesome again?

@Rare Affinity: It's similar in Norway. I'm not sure what the process is, but you can't just name your baby whatever you want. Even one of the princesses had to get her child's name for approval (I think it was Talulah?)

My gynecological surgeon is a lesbian and I don't know why, but that fact actually made me feel *more* comfortable about my surgery this week. Have I mentioned I no longer have a uterus? High five!

@Penny: I had to have my uterus removed a couple days ago due to some aggressive fibroids. You bet your ass I'm having a Hysterectomy Party!!

@Cafezinha: There was a similar scene in City of God, and I couldn't stop thinking just how traumatizing that could be for a child.

I think Beth Ditto has been doing this for years, right?

@Penny: YES Michelle Rodriguez is super-hot!

Feed them like they're supposed to be fed? Way to make children sound like zoo animals, Joe.

Hey everybody! I'm getting my uterus taken out on Wednesday! High five!!
