As an American living in Norway (also of Norwegian descent), I can confirm that everyone wears offensively bright colors at all times in order to stand out amidst the heaping piles of snow surrounding us throughout the year. Since we only get two hours of sunlight in The Dark Months, these colors also serve to help

As a vegetarian and supporter of animal rights and welfare, I'm at a loss. It seems we can't win. Obviously, this ad is offensive and shocking. Then again, if the ad showed fish being gutted, would it elicit any compassion from the (meat-eating) viewer? Probably not. Would more conservative tactics persuade more

@Nighthawk (the former Okori Wadsworth) is going to the DGUS...: It really feels like they're trying to find any reason to blame the United States and Britain for their own domestic unrest. Just grabbing at straws, trying to point the finger at the usual suspects... And it's obviously a last-ditch attempt to

@Acquanetta: Oh no, I love her hair! Simple layers, it's kinda surfer-y. I think it fits her.

My Italian-American mother maintains that most Italian wives will let some dalliances slide because "it takes the pressure off them" and the men always come back to their wives in the end anyway.

I'm so jealous of all the stories about cool dads! My father took off before I was born, so I didn't meet him until I was 14. Aaaand he didn't pay child support (well, they weren't married, so that's part of it).

I don't care how much of an asshole he's alleged to be, I think Bill Maher is straight-up sexy.

When I just glanced at the headline, I was pretty sure it said "Meghan McCain Walks Into A Bar." That's where my mind went.

Really, Britain, I would expect this from my own country, but you?

@marzipane: I used to feel this way, too. About models as walking substitutes for clothes hangers. But it seems to me they could save money and just send clothes hangers down the runway on a rotating wire. Doesn't get skinnier than that!

Some nostalgic advice from another H.S. Class of '99 grad:

@matermagna: High five. Too old to be Millenials, too young to be Gen X. I think '99 high school grads are in a class of their own!

Mmmmm, now I want strawberries, but like big, sugary, candy strawberries!!

It's hard for me to say this delicately, but... Seeing models in magazines makes me feel bad about my body. Seeing models on billboards makes me feel bad about my body. In many ways, the fashion industry has made it difficult for me to accept my own body. I know I'm not the only one.

I think there is an emergence of the "crazy dog lady" nowadays, too. At least when I was growing up, it seemed that way because the middle-aged women on both sides of my family are and have been surrounded by hounds of all shapes and sizes. They make me think of Artemis since the menfolk in our family tend to be of

@Fate'sBitch: I still think that's better than leggings.

@SpasticFurchild: That's what I want to know - is this based on some BMI nonsense?

I'm just jealous that Barack Obama isn't my dad. I didn't even MEET my dad until I was a teenager and he never paid child support. So my whole life I've daydreamed about what a cool dad would be like and Obama has it written all over him.

@stoprobbers: Add me to the list of women who are oddly turned on by Benjamin Linus.
