I think the Democrats should agree to budget money towards the construction of a wall and then just write secondary legislation (after the shutdown is ended) making it legally next-to-impossible to construct the wall. Being in control of the US House means that they “control the budget” so why not actually show that…

I think that humans always deserve to be told the truth, or at least the closest thing to the truth that their brain can handle at the moment. The U.S. troops in Iraq are indeed fighting for the border of Iraq. Sure. Why not. They’ve been there for 15 years, so that sounds better than the truth; that they’re there because the PNAC thought Iraq would be an easy country to profit from.

There’s at least one alternate universe wherein Trump was not able to fake a deferment, served in the conflict, and came back a human being with empathy and understanding.
