I mostly loved this one. There’s a sentimental streak, but one it keeps undercutting. And it’s nice to see an MCU movie where the comedy actually landed. So much stone-cold audience silence during Shang-Chi and that last shitty Thor movie; everybody was really into this one.

You should check on the definition of caramelized onions. These are not caramelized onions.

My guess is because “melted cheese” sounds like what you get on/with nachos. They’re trying to differentiate between liquid cheese sauce and a slice of cheese that has been cooked on a burger.

I tried a Big Mac last week just to see what the fuss was about.

Probably what they are using as cheese doesn’t actually melt, so they had to come up with a different word

I’m pretty sure that they get all their patties pre-shaped.

When the unofficial/official” McDonalds POV guy (aka Stephen Patula on YouTube/TikTok) did a POV of this the other day, he sprinkled the onions on at the end, then immediately removed the burgers from the grill. They’re not cooked except for the very briefest of kisses of heat. I have no frigging clue what McDonald’s

I’ll back you on that. In-N-Out does uncooked onions and I’ve always liked the crunch of them.

Does there really need to be that much sauce?? I am reminded of our Saturday Morning kids PSA admonition not to “drown your food”. I’m cool with a scant tablespoon.

Have you tried the Big Carl from Carl jr/ Hardee’s? It’s their knock off, it’s a way bigger and juicier Big Mac. You can even get it with 3 patties if your arteries are up for it.

I was under the impression that the ‘onions’ on the standard mcburger were dried, reconstituted onion flakes.

Ooh, I already liked the Double Cheeseburger, but a giant improvement you say?  I guess I’m going to have to try it. Thanks for the reviews.

If nobody had told me they had changed, I wouldn’t have noticed (I double-checked to confirm that the store I tried is one of the ones with the changes). I haven’t tried the Big Mac yet, though, so I can’t comment on the amount of sauce. What gets me, though, is the hubbub about the cheese.

Nice! I always liked their little onions and the cheese has a nostalgia factor for me. But the bun was always the worst thing, always seemed stale!

Back in the day (early 90's) when I worked at McD’s, the onions on the 10:1 patties, for regular burgers and Big Macs, where added directly to the burgers once flipped.  It seems they went away from this at some point, and now it is back.

The new buns are the only part that stood out to me when I tried one of their “new” burgers a few days ago. They’re noticeably softer, but the cheese and onions were exactly the same as they’ve always been.

If I remember rightly, Ronan sarcastically dubs them the Guardians of the Galaxy during the finale of the first and Starlord owns it.

Very excited for this one. Seems like the MCU has found a way (temporarily, at least) to right the ship. Here’s hoping I like it as much as you did!

It was okay. It’s a bit weird because I always imagined Snow himself creating the whole dystopian culture with the Games, but it turns out that the whole thing was that way before he was even born. Imagine if it the Star Wars prequels revealed that the Empire was around in Anakin’s youth and he simply rose in power in

The films, like the books, were really kind of a diminishing returns kind of thing. By the end they felt like real slogs. Didn’t read the prequel because I assumed it was probably further down that path. Was it any good or just more of the same?
