I think the argument re: Clemens is that there should be a middle ground between “Steroids make you forever tainted and unworthy” and “Steroids shouldn’t enter the conversation at all” and that middle-ground should be “Steroids impacted stats and so you can’t just compare the numbers of juiced guys to unjuiced guys…
Agreed that from a longevity perspective, his case is pretty unassailable. In my mind that actually makes the argument surrounding PED use slightly more nuanced since one thing they’ve been proven to actually improve is recovery time / completeness from injuries. But then again the writers should probably just relax…
