I am John from the video! Just have to say how incredibly psyched I am to be featured on Jalopnik. Couldn’t have imagined a more creative way for that to happen....

Drag DeMuro

Each ugga is 50 ft-lbs, so he is roight around 100 ft-lbs :)

I assume you work with OSHA and do not approve of heels as workwear?

Gonna be some enlightened emails sent about this. Kristen, I hope you stocked up on wine.

I don’t think it would be feasible to go back to that model in Montana today simply because of the amount of times I’ve been stuck behind some clown on US-2 between E. Glacier and Kalispell going 40 because the posted limit of 75 makes it almost impossible to film the trip for their 50-subscriber YouTube channel.

The safest period in the history of Montana’s highways was during the years when it had no speed limit. I think most of our interstate highways are perfectly acceptable outside of the metro areas for high speed travel when conditions are appropriate and with appropriate vehicles. I’m much more concerned with the

properly educated American

I think we’re far closer to solving nuclear fusion than convincing Karens to use the correct lane.

If we properly educated American drivers about lane etiquette and, well, driving, there’s no reason our interstate highways couldn’t be a fast as the German Autobahn. They’re designed for aircraft landings and troop transport, after all.

I’ve always enjoyed their format, in any iteration. The writing, the chemistry, the production quality, everything.

I’m disappointed they’re getting rid of the studio and test track, but I understand. There are many more people doing studio discussions and test track car reviews since their Top Gear days. Look at any car Youtube channel. It makes sense to focus on what those car Youtubers, etc. can’t do: big production travel

And teach the basics of highway driving.  I don’t know how often each time I’m on the interstate I need to pass on the right as there is a cruiser in the left lane.  Or, joy of joys, two trucks dragging each other uphill.  One barely doing 30, the other 32.

Yes, in America cars are very often in poor shape. Many roads actually do also have designs and speeds in some places that really freak me out.

I think one of the problems with speed limits here in the United States at least is that the limits are designed for 50+ year old vehicles in a lot of places. I can understand the limit being 35 in more residential areas, as studies have shown that pedestrian deaths increase very quickly above 32-35 mph. However on

engine had been refreshed (we had been carrying oil around with us prior :P )

I had a ‘94 SC2 that was 10 years old when I got it. My first car. I drove it through high school, college, and it remained my daily up until about a year ago. It was a fantastic car. I sold it to someone on Oppositelock and have seen it out and about since then. Good to know it is still on the road and getting some

First new car I ever bought was a 1996 SL1. I still drive it. It was ‘totaled’ last year. The other guy’s insurance cut me a check for $1800. I went down to Pick-and-Pull and for $75 for two door skins and a quarter panel had it back to its previous condition in no time at all. Drinks oil like a two stroke (1qt/500mi),

I was t-boned by a Saturn a few years ago.
