I was actually remarkably fascinated by his 3 or 4 part “cooking show” of him making Shepherd’s Pie that he filmed himself (during that gap time before they were officially no longer part of TG). It even made me go make it myself (well, a version of it…).

Driving east sucks… Mostly as our 9-10hr days the other week eastbound meant we were headed home… and further and further away from the west coast and all the mountains… :(

It just vanishes… it’s gotta end up in the passenger compartment or something…

Barely 40mph to crumple the entire front of the vehicles?? Yikes…

Driver controlled excellently, but wondering at what point the co-driver was able to get back to the notes

Yup— my husband started to show me some of the graphics and I went, “Torch?” :D

Oddly, I only started listening to some of their stuff after I met my husband, which was the year they broke up*… He was (and still is) a fan though. And I will not do the math to know how long ago that was…

My dad used to work on cars, so in addition to the 5 he generally owned, he was always out working on them or other people’s on the side. He also loved to drive fast— even with me in the car— so I blame him. ;) We used to play a game where we’d hear a car coming down the street and I’d ID the company by the sound and

I still can’t think of a capybara without thinking of the Tick’s always moist Speak…

As one of the “random people” I’m going to miss learning about things I never knew were exciting to learn about. And I’ll miss being able to discuss now understood complaints about the lame F35 (which my husband also despises) and gaining knowledge and thus adoration for the A-10 (which my husband also adores)…

I’m still trying to figure out how you managed to find the parking spots you did… Or, were you doing a film-and-dash, thus explaining the awkward parking job in front of the White House?

Just had to say that is about the most honest and true almost-clickbait-sounding headline I’ve seen in a long time…

hmmm… can’t delete… (this is more a miata thread so i changed my mind…)

So sorry you’re leaving as you made all of this stuff really interesting. I’m not a pilot, can’t ID planes from their silhouettes, etc.… I’m just a somebody who has grown to really like your pieces and your excitement towards the topics— and learned a lot in the process. So— sad that you’re leaving, but wooooo!

I could see that, though the issue is more with his co-workers when going out on assignment. Since he already scared one bad enough to leave the parking garage once (he rumbled in to their small echoey parking garage right after him in his black ‘05 WRX and the guy looped around and left and could be seen sitting out

OMG… that is absolutely priceless. And my husband is still giggling about Ohio (we despise that state and were lucky to have escaped)

While watching my husband remarks, “Is it wrong I want a roll cage for my car so people won’t ever ask for a ride?”

Yup— that’s what we did. :D I *really* need a big open parking lot though… The one we were in was pretty decent, but I need some open space to really practice :P (I know of one, behind where I play hockey, but the bastards keep plowing it too quickly anymore…). We’re doing Dirtfish soon, in their BRZs, so I hope to

No kidding— we were constantly commenting, “How can they drive that here????” :P Sustained clenching… that was apparently the answer.

No kidding— our BRZ handles better than my car in the snow (though the snow tires certainly help…). Only issue is that clearance… A couple months after we got it we had our first amount of snow— about 3-4" of the fluffy stuff. Not much, but enough to see how it did since they hadn’t plowed yet and there wasn’t really
