How do you stand up without falling down? That’s not really a stable configuration. Same thing: lots of tiny corrections all the time.

My house has a very recent solar array. It covers a good chunk of a very large roof and on a good day will generate about 50kWH. That’s in summer in the desert southwest where it doesn’t rain for weeks at a time. On a cloudy day, it may fall to one third of that. My house won’t do 0-60 at all, and I find Fisker’s…
What’s the Toyota Camry of shitboxes? I nominate the Chevette.
>>It must have been a fun time to be alive.
Is Luddite the term you use for people who don’t fall for every bit of hype they hear?
Sorry StylistCC, but Tesla doesn’t appear to have given a single thought to basic human factors engineering. One of the most important features of designing a control interface of any sort is to understand human nature and how a person relates to technology. Having fine print that says “pay attention to the road” just…
Maybe “ought-to pilot” is a better description of its current state.
I live in Utah. Pooping in your car will get you elected to the state legislature.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve developed software for 40 years that I have no desire to give up my keys. Your USB slot can serve as the receptacle for a dongle with a serious virus. Or a jerk can hit the thing with high current, disabling that key slot and forcing you to deal with an expensive repair.
Keep it on the track and stay off of fragile land. Many of us in the west are tired of assholes ripping the place apart.
It was a joke about spelling. I think you meant ‘bored’.
Even though you were board you should have still tried to lumber through it.
All in all it wasn’t really any worse than the last season with Clarkson, et al. We have to admit it had become a drag, except for a few leftover bits of chemistry. But BBC has to be aware that the format needs to change. Throwing new people into the same old format makes them look more like guest hosts than permanent…
I appreciate the fact that the cars are more standardized. It’s not so much Ferrari against McClaren as it is driver against driver. But I really wish it was on a real track and not an oval. Too much like NASCAR without fenders.
“Why can’t this car be as good as it looks? Because even with a design that’s nearly a decade old, it’s still the best looking of the three.”
I can understand why a Toyobaru would be a strange experience for a driver with no RWD experience. But since the car I learned to drive on (eons ago) was an MG, my FR-S felt like coming home. Of course there are differences. You’d never drive an MG farther from home than you were willing to walk back. It actually had…
I know what you mean about the GTO. I had been driving a couple of years when the original Mustangs, GTOs, 442s and other muscle cars came out. They were barely more than family sedans with big engines. And they drove like it. Loose and sloppy, although they made great noises. Our high school yearbook always had a…

I remember watching the Bob Cummings show back in the early sixties and I remember the Aerocar from those episodes. It was fun to see the many times his character would find an excuse to fly somewhere in the thing. The immense impracticality of it didn’t dawn on me until much later.
First F1 raced entirely on pedicabs.
