That’s almost a 3-percent improvement in power, nice!

There is a new Altima?  huh....

I bet your giggle was similar to how I used to giggle at Fosters Beer commercials....

The side-view camera thing is very similar to the Honda LaneWatch system that they used prior to finally getting blind-spot sensors.  My wife’s 2015 Fit and my 2017 Civic have that.  It shows up on the center display instead of in the dash.  I turned mine off...

I also chafe at the idea of a subscription, but I’ve also heard the BMW implementation of CarPlay (specifically Wireless Carplay, which they may have been first, or near first, to support) was particularly solid and robust.

Not sure if this is still accurate, but Toyota for a while offered CarPlay and not Android Auto due to a dispute/concern over the quantity of data Google wants from the vehicle vs. Apple. Maybe BMW has similar concerns about sharing too much info with the Goog.

    Definitely Crack Pipe.

Good suggestion! The 3rd Gen focus is heavily related to the Mazda3 of 2004-2012 so it has good bones, including engines based on Mazda-licensed designs which are fun and reliable. The worst part of those focii was the crap powershift trans.

Yes, to they need more energy to spin faster. They also definitely have to work harder against wind resistance as the vehicle moves faster, which is probably the biggest drain on the battery.

I drive a 2-door Civic. (2017 Si) I see a few others a month. There aren’t many, but they are out there.

What is a Shadow Bank? I want one.

This doesn’t sound like a case of running out of storage capacity, but more like they’ve exceeded the write capacity for the solid-state storage. If they’ve actually exceeded the write-capacity for the storage, a software fix won’t cut it, it will need to be replaced. If these were inexpensive and user-replaceable

Umm, it is an entry-level car... You think that is bad, get into a Nissan Versa Note, you’ll be begging to get back in the Fit.

My 2017 Honda came with a light-version of the Owners Manual (I think i was called the Owners Guide), but you could request the printed full manual for free from the Honda website. I think I got a digital version of the full manual on CD-ROM with the car, as if I have a CD-ROM reader...

I take offense to that ricey vape comment as the owner of two previous Mazdaspeed models. I just liked to giggle at the torque steer of 280lb-ft through the front wheels...

Buying habits probably won’t change much. Enthusiasts, like many of us, will want the cool new tech /performance features / latest shade of brown on our station wagon and will update our cars more frequently. The longevity of modern cars is boon to the Used market and the sensible, but are jalops sensible?  I’m not.

Correction: Elon Musk can now install seats/windows/electronics/etc. into new vehicles via tweet. So Union workers are screwed.

I believe that was made clear in the title: “...Livewire is a shockingly fun bid for the future.” It was a review of how it rides. Period. He didn’t say you should buy one, and admitted numerous time that it is priced out of many people’s range. Doesn’t change the fact that he believes it to be a fun ride and serious

I agree that China is no saint and I would love to see them be more respectful of intellectual property. However, is this the best way to go about making change?  Seems more like mutually assured destruction.

I can only assume the reason for the Toyota - Suzuki partnership is so they can bring the Jimny to the U.S.A. as a baby-brother to the 4Runner.  Fingers crossed.
