As an aside, the planned CxGF stage show appears to be a hit. They just changed theater venues in Boston to allow for more seating and have added another two cities to their tour.

Someone elsewhere pointed out that the CW expanding to a Saturday/Sunday programming lineup increases the likelihood of CxGF being renewed for no other reason than there’s more elbow room in the scheduling.

Rom-coms are dying as an American art form but they’re thriving in Asia. Internationally popular K-drama series such as ‘I’m Not A Robot’ do earnest romance the way US cinema is just too embarrassed or jaded to tackle these days. It hard to come up with a good, earnest American rom-com less than 20 years old.

Aline Brosh McKenna (Devil Wears Prada, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) has mentioned the concept of “...Plus the guy”. By that she means the heroine goes on her journey of discovery, gains her self-enlightenment (of a sort). Getting the guy at the end is an added bonus.
