"I'M COMEEEEEENG!"
Rollergator makes Joe Estevez's movies on MST3k, Werewolf and Soultaker, look like good movies, which speaks to how bad Rollergator is.
Hey, don't forget Michael Douglas. He was fun in this.
There's an example this year - Mr. Holmes was pretty good.
Your weapons have no effect on me!
Those 5 seconds when he realizes what has happened, and then decides to go through with it anyway, are incredible.
Another movie that has to be mentioned in conjunction with the NYC subway: The Taking of Pelham 123. I haven't seen the remake, but the original is pretty fun with an awesome jazz score.
That's because Wiseau had the money to afford a competent crew (3 times in fact). My guess is that their determination to make something competent despite Wiseau is the reason why The Room is not an unwatchable mess like The Neighbors.
As a fan of both the Cinema Snob and Rifftrax, I love it when they do the same material (Rifftrax has also done "To Catch a Yeti") Considering that Brad Jones is such a huge MST3K fan, I'd love it if he did something with/for them.
Your points are well taken. However, I'd say that while Hobgoblins's flaws make it look cheap and stupid, Manos's flaws make it stranger and more interesting (I'd make the same argument favoring The Room over Birdemic). It helps that I really like the music and the "person's last-known photo" aesthestic in Manos.
A number of the movies on Rifftrax are far, far worse in terms of production values than anything MST3K ever did (Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny, Fun in Balloonland, Rollergator, the Star Wars Holiday Special)

So he's really the Great Vorelli? What a twist!
You got it, dude!
It's poopie suit day!
He's become the Star[Wipe]Child.
Yeah, but it's more shallow and a little leery, so it's more likely to succeed.

He's also great in In The Loop talking about "climbing the mountain of conflict."
