I think part of the problem is that they're generally careless with the movies they pick. When they pick a movie that they have interest in, it's great, but more often than not it seems that they pick the first thing that comes to mind (i.e. every recent Nicolas Cage film) without doing any curation.
I like The FlopHouse, but they clearly have more interest in their own jokes than they do in the actual movie (at least that's a problem for me). Of the three, WHM is by far the best when it comes to actually engaging with the film (HDTGM is somewhere in the middle).
I don't think it's really fair to hold bit actors responsible for the quality of the things they appear in. A working actor has to pay the bills. In fact, I'd say people who appear in trash and know it are more apt to talk about similar stuff.
Jason has often said that he fast-forwards through movies, so there isn't any real doubt.
Maybe if Bruce had included a line saying hello to Jason Isaacs, the song would have been used.
