that’s the thing, right? Can I watch that now and just not find it (or parts of it) not funny and leave it at that? Or do I have to boycott Eddie Murphy of today for his jokes from 35 years ago?

thanks!! - and I didn’t mean to imply it wouldn’t be a big deal to me lol - but it’s hardly the life-changer implied in the song (but maybe that was just their naiveite on display anyway). Appreciate the info!
I’m curious - did they change the timeframe (the original musical came out in 2008, but I believe it was set in the late 90's) - it just seems it would have be different set in 2018-2020 (the nature of the bodega (cash transactions, prices noted in the music), the taxi service, a $96k lottery being that big of a deal,…
Bergman has a pretty damn good resume. Blazing Saddles and Fletch are all-timers for me. And Vegas, The Freshman and the In-Laws were all pretty enjoyable - Serpentine!
hell, Platt looks way more believable as a teenager than anyone in Grease, or anyone in 90210 for that matter.
I would love an Abercrombie adaptation. First Law could be amazing. But alas, I’m sure I’d just be disappointed.
I loved Legend of the Seeker even though it seemed way out of whack with the original material.
LOL - no, but now that you mention it...
I did - admittedly I didn’t really know her prior to Fargo and she was amazing. She was also pretty good in “Legion” season 1.
Right? Even Dylan’s parents who seem to have their shit together better than anyone else we’ve met, somehow raised this fucking monster of a spoiled prick for a son.
Side note - Jean Smart is incredible, she steals every scene she’s in. But also incredibly under-utilized, which is too bad.
The 4th (which never happened) was not though, and clearly a new Indy with Ford can’t possibly be in the 30's.
This saddens me - not Mikkelson, I like him - but Raiders was my favorite movie of all time (I was 9-10 and liked it more than Star Wars). I even enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd installments. The 4th never happened, I don’t know what they are referring to.
this author has made negative comments about “old white guys” in all 4 reviews so far.. I mean it takes place in 1900 London, who do you think the bad guys are going to be?
I don’t think I ever saw Andromeda Strain (I did read the book), and you’re right about 13th Warrior - good call.
seriously. there is a lot of overt and covert racism in the world. this was not an instance of that. not everything is racist.
Just want to say this is one of my favorite features on this site. Not every actor is a leading man/woman, but you can still have a great career. The actors interviewed for these pieces are always so forthcoming and really appreciative of what they have.
oh, good one - forgot about that!
Honestly, I was so disappointed in the majority of Chricton-adapted movies. Congo and Spehere were two of my favorites, and they were hot garbage on the screen. These deserve a remake.
I’ve had enough of Cooper anyway - super over-exposed; just on TV non-stop.
