not true at all... you still have to pay (lawyers, legal fees, man hours etc.). Most corporate fines and lawsuits are settled because it is more costly to prove innocence than it is to just surrender... if they allow no contest, even better.

thanks for doing the legwork! any idea how this works with regard to the franchisee (as opposed to Chipotle corporate)? I always assumed one of the perks of franchising was to relieve corporate of burdens like this.

you’ll probably find the fine is literally $100 per violation; there’s no language in there for sheer volume (like violation #101 is now $1000 per, etc.)

Massachusetts’ min wage is $12.75 and will be to $15 by 2024. Retailers also have to pay a premium (1.5x) on Sundays - so it’s not exactly the $7.25 paid still in about a dozen states (not all in the deep south either).

This is how it’s supposed to work! Mandating $15/hour isn’t useful or helpful. When the business can no longer attract anyone to work for them at (insert wage rate), that’s  when the wage will increase (or business shuts down). Let the market do it’s thing.

I’m not a fan, but her sound is definitely recognizable. You can not like her music, that’s ok. But she has her own sound and actually writes her own songs which is kind admirable.

I thought the show ended last week - kinda felt like they wrapped it all up. I’m intrigued now.

Anyone who does not think Kevin is the asshole is also an asshole.

those are my 2 most hated Xmas songs.

Che isn’t remotely funny (nor has the show been funny in the time he’s been at the desk). He’s a baby, but at least he didn’t call Allison racist, which is his go-to for anyone who doesn’t think he’s funny.

That looks terrible. But I am 100% going to watch it.

I agree, and I’m actually surprised chicken didn’t make the board. If you asked 100 people (not just 40+ like me), a dozen or so are bound to say chicken because they have no clue who Popeye is.

Give me Rogue One - the better than prequels or sequels anyway.

Well, I’m just a small town pizza lawyer...

La La Land was the winner for about 8 seconds...

this comment is underappreciated.

like hits from Bare Naked Ladies with point-in-time pop culture references which no one would understand today.

I’d say it won’t last 6 weeks - unless it’s on CBS, then it will run for 10 years.

Thanks... I don’t really have a problem with the OT/DT either, but it is a valid point about the cost of doing business as wage rise, and the level of difficulty to be in compliance - especially for a small business. It is very easy to make an honest mistake, but the penalties are steep.
