I'm just going to assume they're "Let's get a coffee" but I have neither watched this or read the article. Probably my wife and daughter will be watching this weekend, which makes me a viewer by default.

YES! I'm trying to even remember what Firefly's theme was like and the Star Trek Enterprise theme is all I can hear in my head.

That didn't answer any questions at all! I feel like I'm watching Lost or something.

I've seen all the movies many times (I have kids) and they make perfect sense to me. There's a lot of stuff that's kind of thrown out there without any explanation, but it's mostly internally consistent so you can put it together.

It seems like casting actual kids was a lesson lost on other YA franchises, which is really too bad. My kids were so disappointed with the college-age pretty boys (and girls) that ended up replacing the 11 year old characters in those dismal Percy Jackson movies. And while I can't complain about Jennifer Lawrence

Not to mention the Irish.

What subtext is there to "Girls?"

Mandy Patinkin though…

I think when he said we knew she was the victim because of the skirt, he meant it was because she was wearing a skirt at all (i.e. she was a woman.) The mention of its length immediately before threw me off as well. Otherwise, I agree that an exploration of sexism in a 50 year old scifi series was not a particularly

It's a common Royal Navy term for the first officer, though Wikipedia tells me they're starting to use the American-style "XO" now.

"The current view is that liberals have a whole set of [anti-ladder] statistics that theoretically may be right but it's not where human beings are."

There's a dearth of Saoirse Ronan movies on Netflix in Canada so I gave it a try and enjoyed it. Definitely shows its YA heritage (parents? who needs them!) but the second act does a good job of building up the sense of dread that an event like this would cause, even while our heroine is in denial.

I assume the cancer aids has taken you by now. We're not having much fun here anyway. Would you believe Donald Trump is the GOP candidate for president? The UK is leaving the EU, there's a new cold war with Russia, a civil war in Syria, and we don't even have flying cars yet.

I've read this twice and I still don't know what's going on here. Get off my lawn!

Great interview, I wish we could get audio for these things!

Shave what?

You mean, pull the trigger on The Josh Gad Variety Hour, right? How long are they going to sit on my spec script?

My only experience with him is his podcast, and I hate how he's constantly talking over guests, trying to be the funny guy, and reminding everyone that he's an actor who knows what the celebrity life is like. I very much listen to those podcasts with guests that interest me in spite of, and not because of, him.

Maybe, "I'm so hungry I could eat at Arby's."
