God yes. I was totally into the first section with the kid in Mexico City. He should have stopped there and called it a novella. I barely made it through the second section, never finished part 3.

I finished it just a couple of months ago for the second time. First time was in 1998 when I saw a massive paperback in the remainder bin for $10 and figured "what the hell?" having never heard of the book before.

Except Khan Singh wasn't Hispanic, just the actor that played him. There was an Hispanic Klingon on Voyager or Enterprise though.
