True, Had Rice "suckercocked" her, we'd be having a different discussion altogether.

I thought it was just a re-enactment.

To be fair, the guy in that video did move his arms and legs.

Actually, the vast majority of comments here have been in the complete opposite direction: Women are pure, innocent, weak, feeble creatures who are incapable of any participation in violence. If a woman is ever harmed at the hands of a man, it is 100% his fault.

Would your girlfriend prefer we just cancel the season and spend Sundays having televised forums on domestic violence instead? Should the entire league and all NFL fans be implicated for something that happened between two married people in an elevator?

Walking away is hard in an elevator. Whatever Rice did, it was a bad decision. But walking away was not on the menu.

I don't know, Dogfather sounds like a Native American name to me.

Cold-cocked is probably inaccurate. It suggests an unanticipated punch on a defenseless person. I don't think anyone knows for sure if Rice did punch her. He may have shoved her and she hit her head.

Neither attack was likely to have been prevented. But the outrageous thing about Benghazi (which, coincidentally, also happened on 9/11) was the attempt to cover it up by blaming it on a non-existent protest about a movie.

What could have been. He is an incredible athlete and immense talent. But he couldn't hang on to the rock, which rocked his confidence. Having a crotchety, old-school "doghouse" coach didn't help.

"Go back to the kitchen"

That was actually a cool scene, and unique to baseball. I can't imagine that happening in any other sport.

Riiiight. At least you're consistent.

Your comment failed because it was not clever.

You're right. I should have just said that they are FAR from the most successful franchise, which is the truth.

Two adults in an adult relationship got in a fight at 3am in a casino elevator. It's a fair bet that alcohol was involved. They both struck each other. She obviously got the worse end of the deal.

To his credit, at least he didn't leave her in the elevator. ;-)

"Goodell is a misognist like many men of his age group, if not most men."

Spouses may not "owe" each other sex, but it's as much of a reasonable expectation as fidelity.
