This. I’ve been playing with inverted mouse look for 25 years (starting with flight sims), and I just can’t do it any other way.
OK, so, in the picture above, the wash cycle has the number 60 in. Which is not represented in Edelman’s guide (hello irony). Assuming that is Celsius (since most of the world uses metric, unlike us crazy Americans), so that would be the equivalent of four dots, I am guessing (since 60C is 140F).
Have always felt that way about nectarines, from when I was a kid. My mom gave me one, said what it was, and my first response was, “This is a peach without the fuzz.”
My wife has been using the SoftDisc (which is another, older product from Flex, back when they were known as Instead, and it was called the SoftCup at the time) for over 20 years. She loves them, but does acknowledge that they are not for everybody.
Ship of Ysgramor.
That statement about tenders being okay depending on who made them is right on the mark. I was never a fan of cold tenders until I tried Raising Cane’s (which, while hot, are godlike). Of course, their sauce helps stack the deck in their favor.
I used a Nespresso for years. It was awesome, but I found myself going through wayyyy too many pods, so I switched to grinding my own. There were a couple of reusable pod models, but they seemed too fiddly, so I finally ended up selling the Nespresso for real cheap. The new owner is also pretty happy with it, too.
Good old low-tech Moka Pot FTW. My wife and I like lattes in the morning, so we got a big stainless steel Moka from Bialetti, and a large stainless milk frothing pitcher, which I put directly on the stove at low heat, and then use a battery-powered hand frother (I think from PowerLix) just after I pour the coffee. End…
Desktop toolbar is my fave. And I usually create a couple of folders on my desktop (Work and Play) and make toolbars for those, too. Been doing that for years.
What really bugs me about this POS is the fact that, if you enable text, it creates this big empty space...to the LEFT of it. Like, WTF good is THAT? Icon only? No padding. Icon and text? Padding. DuzNotCompute.
Something I also learned after living in Central Texas for a couple of years. Keep spare capacitors on hand for your outdoor condenser/fan unit. They cost about $20-$50 depending on the rating, and are dead simple to replace if your unit suddenly stops running. Good ones are rated for about 5 years, but can often fail…
I have found that works pretty well on Facebook, especially to trolls. “Sure thing, pal. Whatever you say.”
My wife and I have had separate bedrooms for the entirety of our relationship. We discovered that would work better for us about a month after we started dating. So you could say we never even got sleep married, so to speak.
As a ketovore trending towards carnivore, I think this is awesome. And a heck of a lot easier to do than those gorgeous (but really not worth the effort) bacon roses.
Bonus points if it includes actual organ meat. “I give you my heart of hearts” and so on.
I have tried a bunch of different coffee makers, but the one I always come back to is my stainless steel moka pot. That, with a pitcher of half-and-half warming on the stove beside it, followed by a quick frothing with a battery-powered whisk, makes some of the best coffee I have ever had in my life.

Oh, and basically Claire’s recipe above works fine if you don’t want to use the waffle iron - just heat it in a pan until it starts to set and then put it under the broiler to brown the top (which is absolutely necessary).
Kenji @ SeriousEats to the rescue!
Love me a good Spanish tortilla. Especially with the potato chip hack (Sour Cream and Onion Ruffles are the SHIT here). But a waffle iron? Hmm...must...ponder...this.
That would explain why the local BB was all out when we went to exchange one of our bum ones (packaging said ambient, but the bulb was actually white).
