I believe in you.  Do it for the bacon.

Perhaps take a step further and make cheese baconnaise? I mean, if you’re gonna DO a thing...

Meh, because it was there, really. I don’t get downtown much (traffic) so I make do with a lot of chains in the Round Rock area.  Sooner or later, you hit them all.  And they make it pretty easy to do keto.

Yeah, the best food in Bangor is actually up the road in Orono. Bear Brew pub FTW. :-)

Traffic ain’t great, either, but the worst traffic experience I ever had in Bangor involved...a Texan.  Go figure.

Their pork chops are actually quite excellent.

I ate at a Texas Roadhouse in Bangor, ME, some years ago. It was...OK.

Then I moved to Central Texas and ate at a local Texas Roadhouse (in Austin), and it was actually really, really good.

Not sure if the change was in me, or just the location.

I don’t eat there very often, but when I do, it’s usually pretty decent.

Yeah, we sprung for some fairly decent French steak knives with a bee on them, or something, so I do the same with those.  Also, if something sharp ever goes in the dishwasher, you can bet that my dumb ass will find it when I’m emptying said dishwasher and bleed all over everything.

Weird, I know...broken clock, twice a day, and all that...

Flew from Brussels to Chicago last fall. The in-flight selection was actually pretty damned good. Wanted to watch Deadpool, but there was a 10-year-old boy sitting next to me, and I just couldn’t do it.

I did, however, catch all three Dark Knight movies, back to back (to back). They were surprisingly cohesive when

I’ve always gone with Alton Brown’s rule for sharp knives in general. Hand wash, then immediately dry and put away.  For us, that includes any prep knives as well as steak knives.  Seems to be working; we’ve had most of our good knives for going on 20 years.

We have a small group that meets for lunch every now and then. We typically dine at places that are roughly the same price point, and we just do round-robin when it comes to paying. I get this one, Fred gets the next one, Joe gets the next one, and so on. Hasn’t backfired on us yet; nobody’s been a dick and ordered

Well, business class, anyway...

I grew up in East Lyme, CT. One town over from Old Lyme.

Yeah, those folks are odd.

Have not been to the restaurant, but bought the cookbook when it came out, and tried a bunch of recipes. We almost certainly did not do them justice, but they were delicious nonetheless (especially the 3-day cassoulet - totally worth the wait).

After a fashion, I suppose I am. Well played.

Still processing this. Fuck. FuckFuckFuckFuckFuck.

I love both Boodles and good old Bombay Sapphire. Either will do in a pinch.

No swords?????

I would have to equate air travel in this day and age with a rectal exam. Just do what you’re told, try to relax, and get it over with as quickly as possible.

I keep it simple.
