Mike Ramsey dreams of electric Mustangs

I’m evidently in the “some” camp.

Admittedly, the 2010 Mustang is an improvement over the Mustang II in pretty much every possible way, including looks. The late ‘70s were not the pony’s finest hour.

It takes a LOT of battery to move a two-ton truck 300 miles. You’re looking at at least 100 kWh. That said, Tesla does make such a battery pack (for the Model S and X 100D), and I’m sure LG (who supplies batteries for GM and Hyundai EVs) will make one soon as well.

I second this! Here’s some inspiration:

It still baffles me why anyone can think electric vehicles are “overly complicated”. It has one moving part. How many moving parts does a V8 have?

These are all good (and thank you, Torch, for picking a Firebird instead of the ass-ugly Camaro of that generation). I’d go with the Mustang, personally, but just because I’ve always had a thing for the New Edge body style.

Now try it with a RWD car, and give it the beans right when the rear wheels hit the bananas.

I think the idea is to make the salesman want to drop the price so you’ll buy it from them, rather than the other place.

Ehh...it’s all right, but I liked the front of the previous one better.

Dear Mustang-driving criminals: please, for the love of horsepower, pick some other car. Us Mustang fans are suffering enough from the endless Cars & Coffee memes - we don’t need you making things any worse.

And, presumably, have never had a conversation about such things with someone who wasn’t.

I may be the exception here, but I don’t think the front looks bad at all. Not every car needs a gigantic growling mouth on its face.

That’s the edge of the charging port door - it’s hinged on the inner edge. The fit when it’s closed could be better, but the panel gaps are still better than a Model 3.

If it were $3,200 it might be a worthy project, but at $13,200 the seller is dreaming.

I’m in awe of the effort put into this. Hats off to you!

I have oodles of respect for people who restore and maintain these “boring” cars that nobody else would care about. I kinda want to do the same thing with my mom’s ‘99 Saturn SW2 at some point. It’s got 120,000 miles, a bit of peeling clear coat, a falling down headliner, a squeaky clutch pedal, broken A/C and more

I don’t hate the car in itself, but I do get really sick really fast of people who honestly believe life was better in the ‘50s. That era produced some beautiful cars (and trains), but the rampant racism, sexism and homophobia were much more serious problems than the old white guys (who make up 95% of Bel Air owners)

The kind that have
