Why order? The stores all have thousands of unsold cars... if you want one, buy one.
I’m unclear on any of it. The lot here at the Company Store is FULL of unsold cars. So, I’m sure they are building at record rates-- I’m just unconvinced they are selling what they built.
You have to compare Tesla with other luxo cars, which allow you to custom order your car, as opposed to having to take one off the dealer’s lots.
It’s not smart if you promised the “cheap” buyers a car, later call them up and say “pay more and you MIGHT get the car when we said you would. Maybe.” How is that smart?”
No actually if you read his review...He did praise the tech on the vehicle. But he admitted the quality was still lacking with trim/fit/finish. And it didn’t change even after the review. Customers still get cars with panels not matching up, trim not fitting correctly, weatherstripping falling off. So great... it can…
Also, much like Apple, their hardcore fanbase is incredibly obnoxious and overly cult-like in its adoration of the guy in charge (or, in the case of Apple, the guy who used to be in charge).
But Tesla is one hell of a hype machine. Literally the Fyre festival of auto manufacturers
I second that motion.
Drifting is stupid. Come at me.
Motion to add "BMW Z4 Sister Car" in front of all mentions of the new Supra.
That shot of driving on the raised highway towards the tunnel going through the mountains is actually the H3 highway on Oahu, Hawaii (with some CG editing of the surrounding area). Instantly recognized it, even before I wikipedia’d the movie to see that some of it was shot in Hawaii, as I drove over that chunk of road…
Although yes, Tesla’s not using an old mainframe, since they aren’t, y’know, actually managing traffic right now....
Been outside in the past 80 years? It's called an over pass or get this:. Highways!
An ad hominem on the planners doesn’t change what they said chief. Even if you think they’re incompetent, they’re right here.
Pretty sure any rich guy can purchase a boring machine, dig a tunnel, and crudely modify a vehicle to run through it. I’m not sure why anyone should be impressed at this supposed feat of engineering. What has been accomplished at this point is night and day from the original concept. And no, boring tunnels quickly is…
Uh, so can highways.
No, I think that’s called Twitter.
These studies are always less harrowing once the math folks helpfully remind us of this.
