The Tesla measurements weren’t 100% uphill, they are on similar “hilly” routes which includes up and down grades. It’s an apples to apples comparison.

Depends on which measure of efficiency you’re talking about. If looking at energy consumption, yes, the Tesla may be slightly more efficient. If looking at energy storage, than Tesla is far less efficient.
