Everything you talked about was related to track driving, not day to day driving. It is a known fact that the BRZ/86 chassis and engine feel great on track when being pushed, but lackluster on the street. An NC miata doesn’t btw.

My sister’s Ascent has it and it sucks. Those noises are rage triggers. Oh, we see that you’re near the yellow line because you’re leaving room for a jogger who refuses to use the fucking sidewalk that’s 3' away and chooses the street instead. We will now punish you for your basic courteousness with an obnoxious sound.

I have a 2014 BRZ that I bought new and use as my only vehicle. I’m a track instructor and have put thousands of track miles on my BRZ (I do about 30 track events each year and another dozen or so autocrosses). I love my BRZ and have convinced at least a dozen people to get one.

It’s annoying as fuck.

It's needlessly intrusive and not necessarily reliable

I’m not convinced the people complaining about the car *only* having 200 hp have the right idea and are just arm chair number warriors.* The Miata “only” has 181 HP and you don’t see people complaining about that. The old WRX’s “only” had 227 and no one complained about that. Hell, the old base Impreza had 173 and it’s

“What do we want?”

Your car is indeed sad.

FD RX7? Uninspiring? What are you smoking, man? This is the second tine today a writer on Jalopnik has suggested someone do something sacrilegious to an FD.

Slightly used M240 is the proper answer to this question. Ideally it would be an M2, but if you can’t find one in your budget go M240 with some upgrade.

You’ve actually managed to make the original design attractive by creating a mockup that looks absolutely atrocious. Good job! That’s certainly one way to make us like the new styling.

This is BMW’s homage to the 1970 Pontiac Bonneville.

Ive always had a soft spot for these cars - and a Type R is the pinnacle. Yeah, it’s a 16 year old Jag. But I think it looks good, and the price seems fair for all those horses and the condition they appear to be in.

A replacement brain box for anything more complex than a Ford Escort is >$1000. You have to pay to play, and better to have to drop some cash into a car you paid beer money for than one you paid $70K for. Not paying for depreciation pays for a one hell of a lot of repairs.

When new Evo magazine rated the S Type R as better than the E39 M5. NP all the way for this although given the choice I would have a similar era XJR.

Crack Pipe: These always looked like the cheap Jags. 16 years later that look remains. An XJR can be had for about the same cost, and has a stately design that has aged extraordinarily well.

Maybe that’s the reason for the muffler delete.  Built-in soundtrack.

I wish I had a daughter you could marry.

The taillights are angry too.  It’s pissed off coming and going.

I am not even sure the problem is only the look with BMW nowadays.
