Always seemed like a bit of a head scratcher for MB to have the CLS and the AMG GT 4 door.
Always seemed like a bit of a head scratcher for MB to have the CLS and the AMG GT 4 door.
Yet another reason why pre-deathbag 80s and 90s vehicles are looking better everyday.
I don’t even know where to start with this one. The seats look like they’re either from a W124 or W126 and just because the leather may have been more “rare” doesn’t it make it more desirable. MB Tex wears like nothing else on this planet - which is to say it doesn’t wear - and has none of the finicky upkeep that’s…
Good thing Maserati makes something called the Quattroporte.
These are great cars that get an undeservedly bad reputation because of the F1 gearbox. My advice is avoid this car - not because of the bobo wheels - but because of the gearbox and go find one with the proper 6 speed manual. Do that and you have a Ferrari engined, row your own Maserati for less than cost of a Honda…
Hahaha same!
Totally different car with a totally different character but yeah those are cool.
Let me start by saying I’ve owned several of these in sedan trim. They are fantastic cars that still manage to look and drive modern-ish without diluting the driving experience or muffling too much of that wonderful 5 pot sound. And when maintained, they are pretty reliable and capable of the big 6 figure mileages.…
You, sir, are a hero.
The analog, 2 seat, manual gearbox sports car every Jalop says they want....
And sold before I can type super NP.
Hot take: Buy your $30K Maserati just not this one. Look for the previous generation Coupe GT with the 6 speed manual gearbox and you have a Ferrari engine, manual transmission sleeper that will have you banging shifts at 7,600 RPM and munching miles across interstates at triple digit speeds without breaking a sweat.…
The mechanical symphony of an ICE singing through its powerband, a shift knob to hold in your hand and row through the gears while your feet dance on the pedals below, skillfully blipping the throttle to rev match the downshift. That is what’s missing in an EV and no amount of instant torque is going to replace it. I…
Fair point. Still more more than enough power to make the addition of a supercharger unnecessary in my opinion.
I never understood the need to add a supercharger to a S54. The Z4 coupe is an incredibly well balanced, light-ish platform with 330hp stock at the rear wheels. Drive one 10/10ths and tell me you need more power. Plus the S54 is one of the last great NA Motorsport engines - why would you want to ruin it with the…
Video?
I bought one a few years ago and so far have not regretted it. There are few, if any, better looking sedans and the XJR can back up its looks with pretty stellar performance (for its day).
This makes me happy and sad. Happy for Dave but sad for the Citroen community as we’ll lose one the best, knowledgeable resources for these cars. On top of that, Dave is just an excellent human being; the kind of person that makes you believe this planet will be OK.
I find it ironic that Hyundai dubbed this platform the M3 internally and the next generation BMW M5 is internally known as the G90.
“My little fossil-fuel swilling Fiesta will do 370 miles, tops. If you think you need 500 miles on a charge, listen: you don’t.”
