It’s a good thought but I did a little bit of sleuthing and it seems neither cheap nor simple. Probably better off spending the extra $$ for the S or the 400. Will be better for resale value too.

I love the Evora - it’s the contrarian answer to the “every guy” Cayman. Having driven the 400, which is significantly more potent than the version here, I can vouch for its on road prowess and world class driving dynamics. It’s just such an engaging car that I think will be hard to fall out of love with once the

RuF CTR video: Not even a helmet!

Thank you for providing an un-hyped, honest assessment of the GRC - stellar job! My question is have you actually done track driving with your GRC and experienced overheating the clutch pack? Or is that your analysis of what will probably happen given the size of it?

I second this!

Love the write up and I love that Toyota didn’t cave and try to make this appeal to the masses. Massive turbo lag? Yaaasssss! Now I can actually FEEL the turbo instead of being lulled into sneaky fast super speeds without having to work for it. No adaptive dampers? Good, now I can feel what the chassis is doing

I 150% agree with this. My 1986 3.2 Coupe was a throughly engaging driver’s car through and through. More so, I thought, than my father’s 993 C4.

I was excited but does not seem to work with iOS. I even tried enabling the Developer console in Safari and using the responsive design mode which emulates an iPhone. No luck.

Hahaha trust me I’m no stranger to cars that are supposed to be absolute nightmares to own and don’t scare easily. My 1972 Citroën SM is proof of that. I was merely pointing out the potential downsides of 996 ownership compared to other generations of 911.

Ugh slideshows!

That’s true but IMS and RMS issues - along with the aesthetics - make the 996 (except the Metzger powered GT3) a tough pill to swallow.

I was all in until I saw that travesty of a gearbox. ND.

You’re welcome

I like this. The F Type you really want though is the Supercharged 6 Coupe with the manual gearbox. A very underrated car.

This guy knows what he spica of and is saving a a potentially iniezione-nt buyer from a costly mistake.

Just spend the extra $5K and buy a good one. You will easily spend 2x that trying to bring this one up to the same level. ND.

If only they made a hardtop coupe version, it might be an interesting alternative to the Cayman and Supra.

What is this actually based upon? Have you owned any of these cars? Do you know anything about them?

2nd gear and 5th gear is clearly writing on the wall that all is not rosy with car makers taking the plunge into a pure EV strategy. If it was, Polestar would not be posting operating losses of nearly $1B. Sure, some of that is still incurring the initial costs of R&D, new platform development, and tech to productioniz
