I’m definitely eyeing Wargroove and Cadence of Hyrule. Interestingly, the first-party game that’s getting the most draw for us is Ring Fit Adventure; I’m all about being physical while gaming (DDR and VR games like Sound Boxer), and it’s something that only the Switch can do.

The convenience and the selection of games can’t be beaten at this point. My only fear is that good indie games may be overwhelmed by all the competition in the store, and especially the spam of heavily discounted games.

I’ve been considering getting a Switch for Christmas this year, but I’ve been finding it very difficult to justify as a multiplatform gamer.  The library seems surprisingly small for how long it’s been out.  A lot of dud experiments, and re-releases for games that came out on other consoles years ago.

2019 was the year that I switched most of my gameplay from PS4 and PC to Switch. From the Genesis Classics Collection and each old Final Fantasy release to Fire Emblem: Three Houses, from Untitled Duck Game to Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition, the Switch has earned the most play time from me. I can play docked in

I do hope you get to write a retrospective on the 3ds, a system looked like it was going to be exactly like the WiiU, who couldnt replicate the successes of the DS, but it did come into its own as a beloved system.

Ow my heart. I wish MegaMan legends 3 had been announced during the era of heavy Kickstarter use, we could have paid for it like shenmue 3.

As a fan of preservation, things like this make me super happy.

This sounds strange, and I guess I just don’t understand people.  It sounds as though he just wanted a large collection of something so he can tell people that he has a famous collection.  What’s the point if you don’t actually care about what it is you’re collecting?  How sad of a person is this guy?

Having worked for Blockbuster Canada, they were notoriously cheap. Like they refused to update their POS software pretty much the entire time they were in operation.

In 2000, Reed Hastings tried to sell Netflix to Blockbuster for for $50 million.

so is this game kind of like goat simulator but in a more charming package?

I bought A Robot Named Fight at full price and it is one of the best games for anyone who likes metroid and commutes. Basically it plays like a randomized version of metroid fusion. There are some frame rate issues, especially when you get super powered up, but overall it is a truly fantastic game. I usually can

The benefit of picking Luigi isn’t physical, it’s psychological.  Your heart is filled with joy when you pick Luigi and thus you play better.

I would buy it just for the joy of easily putting it together, but I need to buy a new phone first, then a new laptop capable of CP2077 and GTA6.

Now playing

I would personally wait on this...which is supposedly coming out any day now and is from a well known RPi case maker that adds some nice bells & whistles others seem too cheap to ever include.

It’s more than I expected, especially considering the typical price will be $200 soon. Its capabilities seem a little limited if SNES emulation is “capable”, for the price I would hope that it would be a little stronger, at the very least GBA. A better screen would also be ideal.

You can get much more capability out of a Gameboy Zero (though I’m using the new Pi 3 A+) and it should be cheaper (or almost as cheap) than this. Plus, you have the satisfaction of crafting it yourself.

I agree. In my head, the Xbox One is still at ~36 million sold.

I wish there was an article like this for when the PS3 outsold the 360.

It’ll be even crazier when the Switch catches the X1’s theoretical worldwide total.
