I’m with you man. I loved VB Wario Land and the original but could never really get into 2 or 3. But I can say I did end up really enjoying the 4th game. Always felt I should give 2 and 3 another go.

FF IX and XII were my two favorites of the series just based on atmosphere. I’m a huge FF fan, and absolutely loved FF VII of course, but at the time they released, IX and XII were some of the most atmospheric and well written games I’d ever played.

Seconded! Gameplay-wise, it’s easily my favorite FF game. The story might be too loose to emotionally connect as well as 7 or 8, but the world building is fantastic and the gambit system is amazing if you really get into it.

It was released to little fan far but over time people have begun to appreciate it more and more I’ve found.

Ways I know I have true love - not only does my wife support my retro habit, she occasionally picks things up for me. I remember when she came home with Baseball Stars, which she got for a dollar at a yard sale. That’s love, right there.

An interesting note: I bought one of these when they came out years back and never opened it. I found it in my basement 2 months ago. I sold it for FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS on amazon. I was happily amazed.
