Fine. Sonic fans are making better Sonic games than Sega’s development partners. Doesn’t change the fact that most of Sonic has been bad for a while, and the best (subjectively speaking) title to come out in a long while is essentially a fan love letter.

Difference being Sonic fans are making better Sonic games than Sega... (looking at Sonic Mania)

Sega also missed the opportunity to partner with Sony, which you can only imagine the repercussions that could have been. Back when Tom Kalinske was president of Sega of America, he had significant influence in the company. He attempted to convince Sega of Japan to partner with Sony following the Nintendo fallout.

I’m not terribly well versed in the controllers for DC besides the regular and fishing rod, but were there not many arcade sticks available to it? If not, color me surprised.

I picked that and Cannon Spike up at a rummage about a decade ago for $5 each in minty-fresh condition. Definitely one of my better finds.

I’m just glad I shelled out for some of those Capcom titles back in the day. Values are outrageous these days.

Completely agree. Grabbing the star from the eel’s butt was an exercise in fear for my younger self. I didn’t realize coins would refill your air, but hey, Mario logic.

I won a Mario vs. Sonic argument with that when I was 7.
“Oh yeah, well at least Mario can breathe underwater”

I know a number of arcade games would have some sort of countermeasure to ensure you were constantly moving. Mario Bros comes to mind with the ghost fireball that appears for no other reason.

New Super Luigi U scared me this way. Not only is it difficult, you have to be flawless and quick a lot of the time.

Dude that game is getting expensive now! Great fricking game.

Definitely. I’ve played every Final Fantasy (proper), and I understand the fan-base is massive and divisive when it comes to how the series has transitioned since it started. At the end of the day, its just a game, and we’re a bunch of monkeys flying through space on a spinning rock.

I’m 31, and I’m glad I never got into Reddit culture (don’t get me wrong, there are some good pages/useful things). I’ve never seen a more productive and simultaneously destructive culture. It’s like a support group where everyone is still doing narcotics... I think you and I are at that cusp age of knowing life

It’s thankfully a vocal minority. Delays and censorship, no matter how minor, seem to get these people going like wildfire sometimes. Damn kids.

Yup. I’m running a 500 gig X1 still (waiting for Scorpio), and I filled the HD with that, AC Unity (which I think was in the 60-70 range), Fallout 4, Dead Rising with all Dlc, and GTAV. I know single layer Blu Ray discs hold 25 gigs (or 50 for dual layer), but it shows how much additional data is needed for patches

What game you will never, ever get sick of playing.

Halo 5 comes to mind. Just finally installed it, and 90 gigs (and 8 or so hours later) I was finally able to play it. I know MS didn’t want to be the first company to release a multi-disc game, but it makes me question how much of the physical game I bought, versus what was necessary for everything else.

Do you know by chance if the fan game uses any direct assets to any of the Metroid games (sprites, sound effects, etc)? Just curious since I know they usually red-flag projects that rip official art/sound too.

Makes me think Nintendo is planning on giving Metroid 2 it’s own remake treatment.

No shame in defending what you like. It really was a decent game (and best I ever picked up for $5 at Bestbuy).
