I used to be like you. Then franchise fatigue set in... badly.

came out a while back and basically noted fan games were something of an honor, and has been relatively selective about allowing certain ones to be made without issue. I think the biggest red flag outside of attempting to sell the game, is using any of its direct assets.

I give Miyamoto credit. There are times where Mother is a complete slog, and Mt. Itoi still makes me want to throw a controller.

Ugh, flight control sticks should be reversed. I know piloting shouldn’t be “easy”, but its a fricking game...

Let’s not forget he was originally shut-down by Miyamoto when pitching his initial ideas for a game. Nintendo was beginning to see the negative effects of shovelware and celebrity endorsement, and thought Itoi didn’t have the chops to make something successful. I remember reading he cried on the train ride home after

Remember when GBD did this to everyone? You loveable jackass!

It was reasonable to import about 5 years ago, but prices are now banaynays. I played along with a translation guide, and it wasn’t nearly the slog I thought it might be. Easily more touching than Earthbound, and better gameplay to boot.

Gah, you beat me to it! Really hoping they don’t use the same earthbound samples in the music. I’d hate for this to be a C&D by Nintendo.

I didn’t read all of the comments yet, but there is a pretty solid Mother 4 fan game in development. Really hoping Nintendo doesn’t C&D this one. http://www.mother4game.com/

Only silver lining I see, is that Konami was reportedly already exploring the gaming (non-pachinko) future of MGS. I’m not going to hold my breath any version of Snake will be in Smash, but never say never I suppose.

I think (personally), I’d prefer BB over Solid Snake. It would give a reason to adjust a new moveset, and the final smash could be something involving D-Dog, D-Walker, Quiet, and D-Horse in some outrageous, glorious fashion.

I would kill for Big Boss in Smash. Dat Amiibo too...

nothing beats the playground fistfights of the super nintendo vs genesis kids. We were like the motherlovin’ sharks and jets, except it was Catholic shool, and we all had to dress the same...

Titanfall is a perfect synonym for Battlefront. Arguably there are more diverse modes, and core gameplay is fun (if not frustrating). I think also coming from the Battlefront pedigree, folks (myself included) expected more. No single player campaign, galactic conquest, proper class system, and somewhat slogging

I like to think the work DICE put into scanning the original assets was part of a larger plan to utilize them in future games as well (hopefully). Also interested to see what the sales numbers are looking like next week.

Great review. I’ve never been more confused about how I feel about a game. Technical, atmospheric, and gameplay prowess aside, its lacking some soul.

I absolutely love the Bears, and not because of our rivalry, but because they have some of the most dedicated goddamn fans outside of the Browns.

As a Packer fan, I’m legit thinking our team is completely fucked. There is something absolutely wrong with Rodgers.

Oh man, weddings are the worst. It should be expected that not everyone you know is going to be of the same faith. The priest at a wedding I was just in actually welcomed those of differing faiths, and offered to answer any questions they might have about the service which was really cool.

Semantics of religion always escaped me (roman catholic upbringing here). I’ve never seen more in-fighting in any part of life, than with details of religious belief over actually living what is taught (and subsequently more important).
