From the little I played, it totally feels like it shouldn’t exist, but man does it do the WiiU justice. Makes you wonder what type of impact this game could’ve had if it launched with the system back in 2012...

Don’t forget the 2DS had a permanent price drop to $100 today (if that even technically counts).

I wondered now that Disney owns Star Wars and the Muppets, if we’ll finally get a re-release of Muppet Babies. I don’t know how licensing works in this regard, but I remember the movie references being a hurdle.
Man, you made me think for a minute the last title that really hooked me without using bullshots or only showing the so-called “good stuff” up front. I’d honestly have to say Fallout 3 and Super Mario 3D World (which I know we expect that Nintendo magic, it just didn’t look fresh enough initially).
As an employee, people aren’t very smart about keeping track of their pre-orders though (and I’m talking the ‘average’ customer). Tons of people still think if you pre-order at one store, you can pick it up anywhere, and the phone numbers connected to the order seem to get disconnected all the time. The other mistake…
What happened that they didn’t give it back to you? Genuinely curious. I’ve worked as a part-timer there for years and years, and the only circumstance I’ve seen with that happening is if you forget about a pre-order over the course of a year, or if the staff cancelled it and pocketed the money.
What happened to Sunday comics?
Can I ask how long you’ve had your playable build? Just seems like Nintendo did a great job of having the game promote itself by giving the gaming media much earlier access than usual.
Died at the end
I’m still dumbfounded about the criticisms of that one. Had all of the gameplay enhancements of 2, gave the Gamecube a killer 3rd party title, and the Nintendo nods were clever. I was just happy to have another reason to play through it again when it came out.
Ah that makes sense. I’m sure there are... other ways to obtain the title...
There is a PC version out there. Not sure if Steam has it, but I remember it included the VR missions, and some decent mods exist.
Kill it with this bad boy (girl?)
Best Warioland to date (next to the original). Am I the only one who didn’t like the direction 2 and 3 went in?
I think the characters really resonated too. Balthier and Fran are easily two of my favorite in the entire series. I appreciate Yoshida’s designs over Normura’s at that point too.
For certain. I remember distinctly the development hell it went through. I imagine that had some impact on fan support as well as when it was released (with xb360/ps3/wii having come out).
Maybe that rumored remaster will come to fruition (and PC!)
I would forgive Capcom their wrongdoings for a 3rd game in this series (and some sort of new Megaman for Christ’s sake).
For anyone looking to get decent values on your collection, pricecharting.com is fantastic. You can look up game lots, loose, CIB, or new values for just about any major system. Prices are based on amazon, ebay, and half.com averages, and generally sway with what other independent sites sell for too.
Kevin! Are we getting Sunday Comics this weekend? Or did I miss something and Kotaku stopped?
