I need to introduce you to my wife who can break anything not encased in cast iron or nerf.

Nope. I'll wait the 3 weeks and buy or rent a physical copy. I wouldn't trust them that UltraViolet will exist beyond 2013 leaving me with nothing.

You left out the fact that they're often cheaper to buy (new or used) as well as cheaper to repair. A dual clutch automatic transmission repair job is probably going to consist of you handing the dealer a check for 5 grand and him installing a factory fresh unit since nobody seems to be able to repair them.

Wait a month and buy them straight from the China manufacturer via ebay for $3, shipping included.

May have to go back to a dumb phone and an ipod touch for my wireless (wifi) data needs.

If you go to the verizon site today you're lead to believe (there are probably others buried deep in the website) your only choice is prepaid or unlimited talk/shared data. The latter comes to $150 a month for 2 smartphones and only 4 gigs of data. Add in 10-20% in taxes and that's a huge bill for little in return.

Not sure if it's all Beats' fault or the general popularity of rap/hh/dub/etc, but I find most newer headphones way too bass heavy.

I never meant they'd shut it off, just turn it into a USA intranet that's only commercial. A way to get money from your pocket, to corporations' pockets, i.e. the real constituents.

Given time, the USA will reach these levels.

This problem could be solved tomorrow if the cell phone providers gave a rat's ass. ATT/Verizon/etc know exactly what phone is on what account. They know when that phone moves to a new account. All they need to do is provide a process where the phone can't move to another account without prior owner approval and

In Apple's defense, new products come out on a fairly regular schedule so these idiots should have known a new one was coming down the pike within seconds using a simple google search.

Given the paranoia that Roger Ailes has it wouldn't surprise me that they DON'T have wifi. And if they do have wifi they probably only allow company owned devices onto it.

Tell that to my wife who never met a device she couldn't drop and break. Without a large, padded case, her iphone wouldn't have made it past the first week.

BS. Maybe women are unrepresented in tech because more of them would rather work with people than gadgets.

They all lose because they don't have an optical viewfinder. Add in their price and that big honking lens out the front and I might as well carry a DSLR.

There was a section in the Jobs bio where he goes on about how much Jobs liked Sony's designs from back then and how he admired the company. But that's the Old Sony.

If you want to buy a coffee person something unique and useful I suggest an Aeropress. After being a french press user for years and years I tossed it after getting the aeropress. Easily makes the best cup of coffee I've ever had. About $25 on amazon.

wow, that is a major faux pas.

Easy. Microsoft charges so much for an OS that the only economical method of upgrading (unless you're running a high end workstations) is to buy a new box. Who's going to pay $100 for an OS upgrade that's working fine for a PC that costs $400 new? Combine that with the usual heavy hardware improvements needed to run a

heathen!
