Sadly I don't think my wife would allow any of these. Lets face it, if it was up to men Christmas decorations would be limited to one of those huge blow up Homer Santa Clauses.

I'd say fewer are due to butt dialing and more are due to the fact that many offices still require you to hit 9 to get an outside line. Take that, and the need to dial a 1 for long distance and you can easily see how a finger twitch or a forgetful mind can lead one to mistakenly dial 911. It happens all the time in

Odds are that in the event of brutality charges all 8 cameras will have misfunctioned.

This presupposes that cops care if they blind anyone. Past actions indicate that they have total disregard for anyone that opposes their commands.

I assume that's the rotary audio jog wheel - whatever that does - perhaps it allows one to do scratch effects during music playback.

Easiest coffee ever made but no way the best. For those of us with normal bank accounts the Aeropress is probably the best you can get.

I think you need to keep in mind is that your parents are just trying to stay in contact with you. I'm guessing you don't call every day nor do you actually send them an email with any real content in it. Therefore they try to fill the gap of you being gone and not communicating with them by forwarding you this stupid

Bad zune marketing and bad pricing. If you want to unseat the leader in any market you have to be demonstratively better or or much cheaper. Zune did neither. Granted, Zune had features that the Ipod didn't but MS was very bad in marketing them and/or people didn't think the additional features were worth giving up

The cloud is not in my future since my cell phone provider as well as my home broadband supplier have made it clear that less data is in my future. Data caps from wireless and wired suppliers are becoming more and more common. With external 2 TB drives under $100 I'm better off storing my data at home, not on the

Doesn't make much sense when I can get a year of most magazines delivered to my door for under $20. This whole "let us deliver it electronically and we get to pocket all the savings" movement is for the birds. Ebooks, emags, e-whatever: I bear the costs and the distributor gets all the savings really ticks me off.

Got back from Canada last week. IIRC incoming txt messages are free. I don't think even att could sanction 50cents on incoming. But yeah, international roaming is far from reasonable. If I had to spend any amount of time outside the US, it would be cheaper to buy a burner phone in the host country.

On the plus side, we'd have much cheaper BMWs.

Picked up a pair of these on woot.com for very little money

With just about every provider doing away with unlimited data, how does putting all your music in the "cloud" even make sense? I'd rather have 16-32gb of storage on my phone/mp3 player and keep my music there. Now I don't have to worry about bandwidth caps, throttling or even needing wifi or a cell signal.

I'm sure the pdf menu is because it's easier to update. The menu is probably done in MS Word, then printed to pdf and then quickly uploaded. With a batch file added to the restaurant's pc the owner can update the site menu without having to know a lick of HTML.

I also seem to recall Adams pointing out that the Holodeck would be the last invention mankind ever produced. Kind of the same argument.

She's got future mid-level manager written all over her.

Pure crap. Too big to use in too many spots to be worth buying. Save your dough and buy a nice $20-$40 real socket set at Lowes and have something that is more useful. These dogbone tools are a fad that will be laughed at in the future. They're the Chia Pet of tools.

actually you don't have the right to refuse and walk away. once you enter the secure zone you've waived all your rights. IIRC there's something like a potential $10k fine involved for walking away.

@Platypus Man: I think HP's 12C financial calculator also costs exactly the same now as it did when first released.
