As I said above this was part of the reason I stopped, but I’m not sure we can extrapolate that out to a 10-15% viewership decline. I wouldn’t consider myself exceptional where I live, but I might be exceptional as an NFL viewer..

I’m sure it’s contributing in some cases, I have mostly stopped watching the NFL and that was part of the reason, but I am far from the average NFL fan in other sports viewing habits and my demographic.

What is the evidence the viewership decline has anything to do with concussions?

I mean this is a state that, in addition to being as sports crazy as the Midwest, has started to publicly finance large and state of the art high school football stadiums that rival many college stadiums in less football crazy parts of the country.

Wouldn’t shock me. The NBA, despite the lack of parity, is incredibly fun to follow. The longer season means I don’t have to lop off three hours of my life for every non-playoff game and the league has such a strong gif/social media policy that I can always find out if anything really cool happened in a game between

I don’t think football is going anywhere, but the streaming age and more fragmented viewing/activity habits of the millennial cohort is going to hit it hard. It’s going to be tough on all sports leagues really, but like Baseball and newspapers/radio so much of the NFL’s rise has been tied to television it will

As an Oakland resident and Raiders fan I wish the City of Las Vegas good luck with them. We’re still repaying the debt incurred from renovating the Coliseum for them and part of me isn’t even sad to see them go despite having attended games this season for the first time in years.

As an A’s fan please spare me the crap about the poor long suffering Giants fans. They’ve had one of the better and more impressive runs in recent baseball history and I can tell you from my unfortunate choice of fandom that there are teams that absolutely shit the bed almost every single time they’re in a must win

It was even worse than that. A lot of the people doing that were bandwagoning transplants living in the East or South Bay.

They wouldn’t need to loan him out for him to be on a championship level club if they wait a couple of months.

Well Burnley, for example, have stuck by their colorful manager Sean Dyche despite relegation from the Premier League because he’s been a huge success for them generally. The financial gap for a club like Burnley in a town of 70,000 people is rough, but the club is supposedly playing a long game with their TV and

That’s a fair enough reason. I just find hearing about Arsenal’s tortured history funny, but in general their fanbase is fairly pleasant and there isn’t much animosity with my team. *shrugs*

The truth is the bias exists because there are a ton of American Arsenal fans. They were very good right when Premier League matches started to be more consistently broadcast in the states. Also somehow Americans were sold on the lie that they are a club that’s had a particularly troubled history, which gave them some

No American glory hunters are Burnley fans.

That’s unfortunate. The reason I picked the Mets last year to make a Series run was their incredible pitching, but take away that depth and I don’t see how they make it. I mean it is baseball so anything can happen, but it’s going to be hard for them if they get past the Wild Card game assuming they play in that in

If he was on Chelsea the FA might do that. Nobody there wants to offend the big clubs lest they be dispensed with.

I read the EPL coverage here because of the Chelsea/Arsenal hate.

I don’t get having that strong of an opinion about the hall of fame in a sport you don’t even like? I also don’t care much about the hall one way or the other though even though I actually like baseball so *shrug*

Quick someone remind this guy he’s trying to sell his product in Mexico..

Not only is this guy a trash racist, but he’s a shitty Cardinals fan. Yeah Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, etc. sure hurt the Cardinals.
