If it really has dealer service records then the expensive part of a cheap BMW is taken care of for a while since all of the breakable plastics will have been replaced.  Paint and dents are fixable by a good body shop. After that it's an E46 with a manual so far so good

Easy NP. Assuming it runs as well as the seller states, this would be a great car. If it lasts a few years without too many big repairs, it’ll easily be worth the asking (then sell it again for the same amount). The condition of the paint and body just mean you don’t have to worry about where you park.

Unless there are hidden terminal flaws in the PPI, this is a NP all day.

Drive until it breaks , or if you’re so inclined, wrench like David Tracy until it’s a lost cause. Either way, you’ll likely get your money’s worth before you have to part with it. Or part it out.

It’s like a European version of walking through Costco in sweatpants. A hose and some Armor All could have gotten it to 3K.

Well put.  I’m tired of these blatant NDs.

A 1996 family sedan with six figure mileage for $12,500? Yes it’s an SS, but with that automatic transmission and all those aftermarket “mods”...

That stance, no thanks.

There are other SL600’s for sale around this price that haven’t been updated the way this one has - all of them look way better actually. If I was shopping, I’d be prioritizing something relatively stock with paperwork. Dude is selling his vision of an SL, and will need to find somebody that shares his vision to get

With very little effort, I can find a slightly newer model in great, original condition for considerably less money up front which allows me to spend up to $10K on mods, should I want to, entirely as I see fit. This may be a nice car but it’s also a very easy ND.

(applies camber gauge to rear wheels)  ND.  I know the camber can be fixed but I don’t buy cars from people who do that.  Or probably a lot of other things that have been done to this car.

Nope.  Just nope.

“I’ve put a lot of money to restore this car...

I love convertibles and I would never, ever drive a car that wasn’t designed as a convertible, no matter how good the aftermarket folks are.  there are bets on your life you just don’t need to take.

I want to say NP because it’s low miles and it looks decent with the top down - it would make a great weekend car. Buuut the fact that the car’s price had to be lowered tells me that other, wiser gearheads have taken a look and passed.

I’d rather have a Millennia and have never wanted a convertible. Still, NP in this market.

A relatively clean copy of the worst version of an okay car, complete with a broken odometer and a high price? ND.

Having grown up in the 80's I can remember how the 200SX was presented as the “poor man’s 300zx” and it showed. The 300ZX looked cool and had considerable performance for the 80's The 200SX was an econobox dressed up as a sports car.

Damn, wrong motor.

LOL. Lmfao. Imagine the temerity of asking that for this car with a broken radio and broken AC and a broken odometer.
