Um, isn’t charging an EV overnight the number one most basic use case? Did it really require two separate studies to confirm that people that have the ability to charge overnight at home will do it?

If you dont have means to charge at home why would you buy an EV? That’s just poor planning.

Normally a scanner isn’t needed for OBD1. You jumper some connectors on the harness and it’ll flash the codes on the dashboard.  This went away with OBD2.  Lexus has jumper pins on the old ones from the OBD1 years.
