I just finished a 5 year loan and I think that’s going to be the last one for a long while. Probably as long as I can turn a wrench, or until I get sick of it. Which ever comes first.

10% is pretty reasonable. let’s say $60k a year, so $6k on transport a year is $500 a month. My relatively cheap insurance is ~$100 a month, plus let’s say $60 a week for gas. That’s already $340 and we haven’t even made a car payment. Or paid taxes on the income.

It will definitely get ugly.

There is an actual market for leasing, it’s definitely not for when you want to keep the car forever.

I worked at a dealer and someone trade in their previous model year lease for a new one because it had a back-up camera. Same car, same colour, same trim, just with a back-up camera.

Citation needed, several 10-15 year old Kia/Hyundais in my family that all run perfectly fine.

Aka: Cobra Chicken

Steering wheel holders will be the first ones to be let go.

Just barely a CP.

The funny thing about that is now anything from the 60s or 70s that isn’t matching numbers is getting restomodded to hell and back.

I live in a medium sized city, in an evil “suburb”.

Golf season is coming up fast.

I wish I could ban Jezebel from popping up in the recommendations.

It would probably stick out of the hood.

You could do a K swap for a fraction of the price. There’s a huge aftermarket for them, lots of used parts and lots of knowledge floating around.

Fuck Windstar subframes. I swear they’re made of depleted uranium.

This spring someone around here was selling a Pontiac Montana that they put the FWD LS into.

Due to the nature of automotive repair, contaminants like other oil based fluids and coolant are regularly mixed with oil, so the companies that recycle it have to have a a way of separating it out or their end product would be worthless.

My city is actually pretty ahead of the curve on recycling.
